I agree, a very good-looking turkey. I see he's been debeaked, tho, the end of his top beak snipped off so he can't peck other turkeys. Sad.

Maybe the last eight years have just obliterated my sense of humor, but does anyone besides me actually find this Thanks Giving ritual OFFENSIVE?
I was watching the children observing the turkey so sweetly named "PUMPKIN" being pardoned from slaughter for Thanks Giving dinner, and wondered what they will be thinking as they sit down today to dig into the bird that wasn't pardoned.
Frankly this is one very stupid ritual I would love to see ended.
That turkey made out a lot better than any death row inmate in Texas. Did any of them ever get a pardon from Bush, guilty or otherwise.
The turkey wasn't pardoned, per se, he achieved his freedom by out negotiating W. Just another example of a liberal elite intellectual getting one over on 'ol Georgie boy.
Only other thing I want to know. Why is that man 'flashing' that turkey in the forth picture?
I'd love to see the end of this ritual farce of pardoning one turkey and then eating another. I'm a vegetarian, but I'd be much more satisfied to see the president kill and gut his own turkey in place of the ridiculous "pardon."
I am in total agreement. This ritual is WRONG on so many levels.
What the heck is he PARDONING this turkey FOR? Did it commit a crime? Are UNPARDONED turkeys not as worthy? WHAT?
I mean this PARTICULAR turkey was RAISED like a KING, specifically for the sole purpose of looking good, so he could be the chosen bird to escape the axe. WTF?

When I saw the article's title, I assumed that it was the Sarah Palin-pardoned turkey. That turkey is probably now embarrassed to show its face in public.

When i looked at the first pictures i thought it was Bush until I saw the two of them together and then I ralized it was one of his brothers.
