When people drink alcohol, they usually overesitimate their ability to drive. Drunk people never think they're too drunk. That's because alcohol destroys judgment as well as motor skills.

What researchers have found with marijuana is that marijuana has the opposite effect on a driver -- they perceive their impairment to be greater than it is, so they are more likely to refrain from driving than are people on alcohol.

So you probably shouldn't drink after a couple of beers. It's just the alcohol telling you that's okay. That's why drunk driving is such a huge problem -- because rarely correctly estimate their own level of impairment.

The reason why we don't see huge accident rates directly caused by marijuana is that marijuana makes people overestimate their impairment so they stay off the road even when they're okay to drive.

Smoke Pot...I am not 420 for nothing. For the most part all are open minded. I love Pot. I am very successful 51 year old who enjoys pot to escape from the BS of the world. Yes escape! I also use it to cure my sleeping disorder, muscle spasms and arthritis. The world is not flat and pot doesn't lead to other drugs.....­I have been smoking for 30 years.

Every pot smoker has gone through dry periods when they can't find any or if they are visiting family for Thanksgiving for a few days. Over 30 years time, I'm sure 420 had many dry spells. And, I'm sure he didn't shake or go through withdrawal like a prescription drug user or alcoholic would. Pot ISN'T addictive and scientists have proven it.
