Liberated

ABC News:

In a personal and wide-ranging interview conducted by his sister about his legacy, his faith and the influence of his father, President George W. Bush said he hopes to be remembered as a liberator of the Iraqi people.

"I'd like to be a president [known] as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace," Bush told his sister, Dorothy Bush Koch, in a conversation recorded for the oral-history organization StoryCorps for the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

An excerpt of the interview was aired on National Public Radio Thursday, and the White House released additional excerpts with both the president and first lady Laura Bush today.

I guess having an 87% disapproval rating doesn't register with Dubya. The man is delusional and I'd bet 'ya he' s been back on the booze for at least this past year.

Dubya is almost singlehandedly responsible for the rise of the Comedy Channel to national prominence during what used to be called the News Hour. Sarah Palin is responsible for resurrecting Saturday Night Live's ratings.

One could not write comedy this funny, or this sad.

The reason for the chirpiing crickets, is that there has been nothing finished, which is a requirement for something to be called an "accomplishment". As things stand, Bush's Presidency will likely be remembered as one in which literally everything was left unfinished and dropped in the lap of the following President.

Look at the "Moon shot" and "Mars shot". Moon shot linked to Kennedy because he was the one who made the timetable in 1961 to put a man on the moon before the end of the decade. And he provided the drive and funding to get it all going. That's why he's often credited for making it happen, rather than Nixon whom it happened under in 1969. In comparison, Bush goes off on his Mars shot, but gives no funding, no inspirational drive, nothing but big hollow words. And Bush has never given a timetable for anything. And that will be Bush's biggest downfall. The "Decider" who was unable to make the decisive decisions when it counted. And took absolutely no risk in anything.

I guess he wouldn't dare try to name something he's done for Americans. Why did this "conversation" with his sister make the news?

I'd like to be known as the winner of the New York Marathon. But I haven't run in about ten years. Pretending has nothing to do with achieving, something Bush will never know.

Good Lord he is dense! Thank god we only have to bear a few more weeks with him. Totally is denial! He has the alternative view of reality reserved only for alcoholics and dictators. Which, by the way I heard he started drinking again.

Bush "liberated Iraq" while he trashed our Bill of Rights and Constitution
Bush "created prosperity" in Iraq while destroying ours.
Bush cut funding for AIDS in the USA

Do the math, W, Iraq doesn't have 50 million people, but 23 to 28 million at best; many have fled.

"I'd like to be a president [known] as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace,"

His "values" have earned him the title The Worst President Ever.

Jimmy Carter is still by far the worst President by far. Not even close.

What did Carter do wrong? Reagan wasn't a very good President, certainly no different and no better than Carter. And GHW Bush was already on my list as worst President ever until his son GW Bush comes along and steals the thunder from his old man and is now the worst President ever. Hoover and Harding are looking damn good about now.

Carter had the same "the country belongs to the people" attitude that Obama has. The trouble with Carter was that he was too nice of a person. He has done a very good job since leaving office...Bush will never acheive that either. I think Carter was before his time maybe. And now that time will never be...the last 8 years have locked that in for a sure thing. Bush is delusional and listens to the voices in his own head. He has not liberated anybody. Genocide has helped the Iraq situation..and certainly many are gone now. Basically for the last 7 years, bush has locked all his minions into the state of fear...I would say he has done just the opposite of "liberate" for the USA. And it isn't over til its over, is it?

Not in my book. Carter was a great man and President. If the Republicans hadn't undone his efforts to promote alternative energy, we would be in a much better place today. If the Republicans hadn't actively worked with Iranians to see to it that our hostages were not released until after the election, Carter would have been re-elected.
