Survivor Of Mumbai Attacks Talks With Larry King About How He Escaped

On Friday night Larry King spoke with Canadian Jonathan Ehrlich who was staying at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai when the attacks began and was fortunate enough to escape almost immediately and return home. After telling the story of how he escaped from danger, Ehrlich delivered some observations about the nature of the violence that occurred in India, particularly when it came to the targeting of Westerners: ""The important message here is that it doesn't really matter if you're Jewish, Christian or Muslim, whether you believe in Noam Chomsky or Pat Buchanan, whether you're 3 years old or 100 years old, all these people cared about was killing."

A good portion of Jews recognize what happened at the King David Hotel as a terrorist attack and a heck of a lot of Jews agree that some of the things Dayan did was murderous. Where's the Muslim voice and outrage at what happened in India and so many other times when Muslims attacked and murdered in mass? Those Palestinians dancing in the streets and carrying on in celebration of the mass murder that happened on 9/11 didn't help their cause either. Bottom line is you appear to think, if you think at all, that one wrong makes a right. What happend in India was murder and there's no getting around that except if you want to turn a blind eye to it and rationalize an irrational argument.

because that is what the terrorists were saying to some of the hotel guests. westerners were the targets, but indians suffered as well on a larger scale.

if you were an Indian and you happened to get in the way, you were shot.
From the looks of things, they were just out to cause as much chaos as they could, and so they just shot whoever happened to be there and most were Indians for sure.

BUT they targeted certain people.
They targeted Westerners
They targeted Jews.

They went looking for Americans and Brits,
Wanted to see Passports.
Attacked a Jewish Center ... specifically went out of their way to kill Jews
Do you see the difference?
It wasn't about killing Indians as much as killing the usual - Americans, Brits and Jews and hurting India by discouraging people from coming to India, doing business with India and most importantly, they want to sabotage any rapprochement between Pakistan and India.

Again the charges are probably true, but you, GZlives, present them as opinion not facts . The fact that they killed so many Indians is not explained by your comment, "if you were an Indian and you happened to get in the way, you were shot." Again if they were only looking for westerners you need facts, quotes, statistics, to support this claim.
I'm of the opinion that Indians were also targeted, and I base that on the reported numbers.
My one hope is that the press is not stressing 'westerners', to devalue the lives of others.

The fact is, even though most victims were Indians, that the murderers specifcally asked that those with British and American passports be seperated. They also sought out Jews. Who knows though? Maybe in bloody frustration, they just cocked their guns and shot willy nilly at anyone but the attempt to find specific groups was there from the outset.

This stuff is going on ALL THE TIME in Central Africa. This is our first exposure to killing civilians with guns on a large scale in a second or first world country. Effing scary stuff.

This stuff has been going on all over the world since before 9-11, americans only became aware when 9-11 happen. Its about the whole world. I lived in europe before 9-11 and can remember things happening around the world.

It is nonsense to say they are "pure evil". That comment doesn't help understand anything. The bombers did this for a reason they believed in. I want to know what that reason is...and don't want to hear more of the simplistic BS we usually hear from our leaders/press. That doesn't help solve this kind of thing either.
