Rosie Live will live no more.

Rosie O'Donnell writes on her blog that her NBC variety show - her first TV gig since leaving The View - won't being continuing.

In her signature online shorthand, O'Donnell writes: "there will b no more. no ratings. bad reviews. yet still - a thrill 4 me."

An Ed Sullivan Style show, would have worked. If the show was re-written, showcasing just the variety talent acts, really unusal and good ones, without the doorbell ringing stuff, it would work. I am sick of the reality TV shows, and entertainment on TV is truly lacking. Ed Sullivan's show ran for years, and Carol Burnett's show ran for a long time, and Johnny Carson had successful silly skits as well.
She should couple up with someone in comedy and have them co-host the show with her, someone like Arsenial Hall, or a Jay Leno type, or even Robin Williams and the show would have taken off!!!
All they have to do is re-write the show with proofs that would appeal to the TV set of 2008--- or even a comedy competion with a few skits would work... They need to let me pitch a show.. I could use the money!!!! I am hard to please and I know exactly what would entertain me! Get it together networks

Rosie, if you are looking at the comments, please don't abandon this idea. You just got the wrong acts is all. Did you see Ellen's Even Bigger Really Big Show? It was in the style of Ed Sullivan with great acts from Vegas. You need chimp or oranutan acts, acts like Señor Wences with the "Open the box" stuff and other one of a kind acts. Broadway does not translate (very often anyway) to TV. You could do it but it wouldn't be a good use of your talents because the talk show is where you shine. Remember Ed Sullivan was wooden and not especially charismatic but he was an empresario and presented the most entertaining acts on television.

It seems the TV and Radio of 2008 has forgotten to be entertaining. What pass for variety now is not fun to watch.

It appeared as soon as Rosie 'thought' the "ink was drying" on her contact with her current network, she started a "Palin" way of garnering attention: slam whoever or whatever may have crossed her path. Hence, she took on the "old" news of the View and it must have caught the attention of her new bosses and they wanted something fresher instead of the "McCoy's and the Hatfield's" being played out day in and day out on her show. Also, I would think BaBaWaWa has lot's more friends "in the biz" and she ruled more so than Rosie. Rosie, stay on broadway.

If Rosie did not resonate with people they would not use excerpts from her blog to get ratings on entertainment reporting shows. There has been a concentrated effort by the right wing to silence Rosie and decry her as a bully since she asked Tom Selleck, who used his celebrity to become the head of the NRA, how they could believe founding fathers could support automatic weapos-this happened soon after Columbine-she did not badger him but simply asked a question and then it went out thru right wing press that Rosie had bullied him. I knew that that was how they would portray her on the View when disagreeing with Hasselbeck and so it goes. She still is targeted for her progressive view and they try ro marginalize her with negative distortions. If you check out her blog for yourself instead of just seeing things out of context-you will see she is extremely generous where her former colleagues at the View are concerned and I actually leave her blog with a smile every time because of her positve energy. Lucky network it will be who finds a way to tap into that positive force of energy in the proper format.

It is pretty clear she is an extremely negative person, right wing has absolutely nothing to do with that. Negativity sells for more then positivity, thats why shows use her excerpts, get your story str8. I for one am glad she isn't on tv, and best part is that she got destroyed in ratings that night by GASP Barbra Walters... someone bit more then they could chew, the end.
