Modesto Bee:

Parishioners of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Modesto have been told they should consider going to confession if they voted for Barack Obama, because of the president-elect's position condoning abortion.

"If you are one of the 54 percent of Catholics who voted for a pro-abortion candidate, you were clear on his position and you knew the gravity of the question, I urge you to go to confession before receiving communion. Don't risk losing your state of grace by receiving sacrilegiously," the Rev. Joseph Illo, pastor of St. Joseph's, wrote in a letter dated Nov. 21.

Hypocrisy seems to be the one common Denominator of all Abraham's Children.
The abuse and “reverse-usage” of civil Liberties for the Purpose of Religious Freedom, which are aimed to intentionally suppress not only the constitutional guaranteed Rights of Others in a Multi-Ethnic, Multi-Faith, Multi-Cultural Nation but all, is an attempt to compromise and undermine the Constitution, Seperation of State and Church and even their own freaking 10 Commandments.
Evidently “Power” corrupt indefinitely infinitely and since Power means “Mammon”, Religious Tax-Exemption MUST be and WILL be REWOKED! Backwards for the last 8 years.
It's, that Simple!
I just watched this nonsense on U.S. TV: http://silencingchristians.com/

No priest has ANY moral authority.

Why does the Catholic Church continue to exist? How can anyone think that a priest has any better interpretation of the Bible and the teachings of Jesus than anyone else when they have clearly shown that they do not.

Myths of a teacher of morality who was executed and resurrected pre-date the Catholic Church by thousands, not hundreds of years. They began as celebrations of the rejuvenation in the Spring season, and pre-date even the Hebrew culture. Christianity is a fraud. Catholicism, direct spiritual descendant of the Roman Empire's religious hegemony program, is merely the most fraudulent. The Protestant Churches that split from it differ, but only on trivial matters.

That superstition has one valid statement about morality: do not do to others what you do not want done to you. The rest is meaningless noise, harmful in its tendency to distract from the one central, universal tenet of morality.

Do the "good" pastor also thinks that those who voted for George W. Bush should repent and confess their sin before taking communion? After all, through pure greed for oil...he sent the sons and daughters of America out to fight in an unjust war based on lies or is the priest under the impression or conviction that once out of the womb...the life bears no true value or importance.
Arrogance and Assumption creates an atmosphere of hypocrisy when one cease to recognize that every soul on this earth that espoused any kind of hatred toward his fellow man...is guilty of murder...this is what Christ preached and he was referring to a spiritual murder which is probably equal to a natural murder when one understand that God's ways are not our ways and the way he sees things would make all of humanity quite humble for every sin under Heaven have been committed by all of humanity spiritual if not naturally and according to Christ....to offend in one...YOU have offended in All. So, perhaps the priest needs to repent and pray before taking communion since he is guilty of slandering a fellow human being.

This is out of this priest boundary. He is assuming HE is authorized by God to select what is sin. First of all, lets all recognize that pro-abortion and pro-choice are in fact two tottally different positions. I do not believe any rationale person of conscience would be pro-abortion however, I can understand how one can indeed appreciate life and still recognize that the decision to have an abortion is a personal decision between the woman and her God...if in fact she even believes in God. I happen to believe and embrace there is a God and that he is pro-choice. He gives each person the right to receive or reject him to their own eternal detriment (which is an awful long time without end). He does not force himself on anyone but leave it to the individual to make that ultimate decision that will impact their eternal destination. Who are we or this minister to think WE have the right to make any decision for another and force them to embrace our beliefs no matter how much I am convinced that Christ is the risen Savior of the world...how can I go beyond what Christ himself did not implement which is "Forced Faith."

I guess dropping napalm on villages isn't as bad as supporting a woman's right to choose what happens with her body.

supporting a woman's right to choose what happens with her body.

Actually, you don't even need to take it that far. Obama could support freedom of choice even if he thought that no one should ever have an abortion except to save the mothers life. Why? Because he believes in the American standard of majority rule. The majority supports freedom of choice. He reflects that.

So medical procedures should only be legal when they are supported by a majority of Americans?

Gee, "Father,"
Would that be a "mortal" or "venial" sin?
Would boogering young boys, covering up evidence of it, or not being forthright in testimony about it be a mortal or venial sin?
Would pretending to be a church while knowingly operating as a political action committee in violation of IRS statutes be a mortal or venial sin?
After violating these regulations, would continued operations without paying taxes be a mortal, or venial sin?

Curiously waiting your reply....

I guess it's OK to supporter a candidate who cheated on and then evenually divorced his disabled wife to marry a wealthier blonde beer heiress.

Padre...I'll make you a deal you can't resist: spout all the pompous, narrow minded, idiotic bullshit you want from your bully pulpit in return for giving up your tax free status.

Oh wait...how will they then be able to pay all the boy buggering lawsuits?

HI I'm Satan... I'll make abortion illegal but you must allow me to completely ruin the rest of your country and especially give all the money to the guys who are already stinking rich and don't care about you and hate all living children.

Don't those idiots realize that if you mak this country a wonderful place for women and children to live in the abortion rate will go down by itself?

Sir--have you not heard of the separation of church and state. Then of course, the IRS would love to hear about your statement and would love to rescind your tax-exempt status.

Hahaha. The IRS yawned as the Mormon Church used its machine to bankroll and organize California's Prop. 8, which _took away_ a right that Californians had already been enjoying.

You think it's all about "the gays"? Wait till they come for your rights.
