Miracle? Was there a televangelist present to confirm this? Or Sarah Palin? Put me in the skeptical column.

What a cute little girl, and it's great she's doing so well. The article says she fell from an escalator on the 2nd floor of a store, though, so I'm not sure where the 100ft comes into it.

I'd much rather read updates on how Lil' Evie is doing rather than whatever Bill Kristol is spewing at the moment.

She's an angel, she didn't have to worry.

A100 foot fall in Liverpool, eh? That's nothin'!

When I was a lad, me dad use to come home, chop us into little pieces, then send us off to sleep in a cardboard box in the middle of the road, wake us up three hours before we went to sleep, and send us off to work in the mines 26 hours a day with a breakfeast of cold coffee grounds. This little tart had it easy!

Right! Well that's when dad was in a good mood, which was never. What I would have given to be thrown down a 100 foot escalator when I was three! We never went on holiday by layin' around in hospital felling all sorry for ourselves! That's what's wrong with the world today!

Defying the odds does not constitute a miracle - unless you change the definition of miracle to include things that are not just impossible, but also things that are very improbable. Instead of calling it a miracle, which implies supernatural intervention and really should be reserved for things that really do defy the laws of nature, why don't we just call it what it was: amazing luck. Of course, the amazingly good luck that she survived doesn't completely balance out the amazingly bad luck regarding the massive internal injuries that she suffered. It seems that she didn't beat all the odds, but I hope she gets better.

Well stated. IT was no miracle. If you call her ordeal a miracle, then what do you call what happened to young girl that fell out of BED (no not a bunk bed) and several hours later was dead from the hit she took on her noggin?

It all comes down to luck - GOOD and BAD. Not a miracle.

Evidently her fall was cushioned by a great bubble of "freakin' adorable."
