Bush Gets First International Medal Of Peace

To mark World AIDS Day, Saddelback Pastor Rick Warren is hosting a Civil Forum on Global Health at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Warren will present President Bush with the first "International Medal of PEACE" from the Global PEACE Coalition in recognition of his unprecedented contribution to the fight against HIV/AIDS and other diseases. The "International Medal of PEACE" is given for outstanding contribution toward alleviating the five global giants recognized by the Coalition, including pandemic diseases, extreme poverty, illiteracy, self-centered leadership and spiritual emptiness. The Bush administration reports that its AIDS initiative helped treat two million people living with HIV/AIDS.

Friends, the truth is that GWB's help that was extended to Africa to combat HIV, was tied to that whole 'abstinence policy'. This was introduced even after years of the Africans resorting to other may i say sensible ways of doing the same thing. The fact is that abstinence should never have been championed at the expense of other means like using condoms and being faithful...

Reading that stuff made me want to puke in Rick Warren's face. And I hate to break the news to the Coalition (hmmm, wasn't there a Coalition in Iraq too, along with some Coalition Provisional Authority, that Coalition word sure is popular!) but Bush has done nothing to alleviate "self-centered leadership".

Bush is all about being a self-centered leader.

Warren's Global Peace Coalition is made up of whom? I thought of the late night infomercials that have a PO Box in Hollywood. They must convene next to the Institute for Compassionate Convservatives. What's their credentials? Is Rush, Karl, Dick, and Sean on the coalition ?Maybe Daddy wanted him to get a medal before he left office. I can't wait for Keith Olbermann to get a hold of this.

LOL, I agree with you. We should be taking care of ourselves first, then use our excesses to help the truely needy in other parts of the world after. That would go a long way towards making people like us again I would hope.

I voted for Obama and a down ticket democrates, but sincerely speaking, I will give GWB credit for his fight against AIDS, he did deserver that medal. He did a good work that that department, I wish Obama will carry on from where he stops.
