Bush Gets First International Medal Of Peace

To mark World AIDS Day, Saddelback Pastor Rick Warren is hosting a Civil Forum on Global Health at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Warren will present President Bush with the first "International Medal of PEACE" from the Global PEACE Coalition in recognition of his unprecedented contribution to the fight against HIV/AIDS and other diseases. The "International Medal of PEACE" is given for outstanding contribution toward alleviating the five global giants recognized by the Coalition, including pandemic diseases, extreme poverty, illiteracy, self-centered leadership and spiritual emptiness. The Bush administration reports that its AIDS initiative helped treat two million people living with HIV/AIDS.

Giving Bush this medal of peace both made the medal pretty much irrelevant and destroys any credibility that it might have had.

I felt the same way when Arafat won the Nobel peace prize. Made it pretty well useless and irrelevant.

B). Is he going to resign from those boards? I would imagine so since I believe being the National Security Advisor is pretty much a full time job.

This is -- Ladies and Gentlemen -- as far as comedy can go , as much as facts and history can be ignored ,as distant from logic as one can intellectually travel . At this point The Trans-Neptunian realm of thought is visable only in the most powerful telescopic- rear view mirror .
I would ask anyone to try to support this ON THE MERITS , or to List any reason why any respect should be shown for the Individual or group that would even consider such a thing . Excepting , of course , the confines of an Abnormal Psych textbook or prehaps MAD Magazine .

I can't believe the gall of some people!! This is incredulous. And to think a Pastor is doing this. If there is a Hell, then surely Rick Warren will burn in it for all damnation for this slap in the face against Christ. Bush has NEVER done anything for HIV/AIDS. He's ignored that problem just like he's ignored all the other problems that are now fully out of control. A wrecked economy, healthcare system that will soon be in the bottom tier in the world, a disease control agency that can't even control the most basic of diseases and allow food poisonings to run rampant in association with the inept FDA. A military that is understaffed, underequipped and overextended. That brings up the 2 never finished wars, or 3 if you include the make believe farce "war on terrir".

No, Bush doesn't need a medal. He needs handcuffs.

I thought this was a joke, until I saw who awarded the medal.

And why, exactly, does this piece of laughable Republican propaganda qualify as "news"? The headline creates a very distorted impression...although it obviously did the job of catching the attention!
