Chris Matthews: Obama's Diverse Cabinet Like "Many Faces Of Benetton," "Clearly Representative Of America"

Chris Matthews praised the image of diversity coming out of Barack Obama's press conference Monday morning, comparing it to a United Colors of Benetton ad.

Matthews said that Obama "is very aware of the picture he's offering as well as the words" and that his picture Monday morning — three women, three African Americans, one Republican (and someone who has worked with Republicans, in Gen. Jones) — sends a clear message.

"Clearly it has the picture we're looking for, many faces of Benetton or whatever you want to call it," Matthews said, "but clearly representative of America more than previous administrations."

Benetton is a clothing brand known for its inclusive advertising featuring diverse models.

Two of the major bases for the Democratic party are Afro-amerocan voters and women. If the Democrats are so foolish to have Mathews run in Pennsylvania after some of the things that were done to Hillary by the Democratic Party itself(the counting of delegate fiasco) the Democratics will lose one of their two major voting bases. Anyone who is commenting on sexism inthe media always refers with good reason to Mathews. It would be absolutely disastrous for Democratics if this right wing n.u.t. b.a.l.l. runs for the party.

I like Chris! He isn't perfect, but over and over I have seen a strong love for America expressed from Chris Mathews. He still has feelings and beliefs and ideals and I find that sufficiently unique as to be refreshing. Now Joe Scarborough---that's another story. Mathews talks about diversity and representing the country and Scarborough seems worried, and mocking, that there are only two white men on the stage. Guess what Joe? We haven't seen anything but old white men for a real long time and we're glad to see everybody at the table. I wish Joe would find a new job. Maybe Alaska would be a good fit for him. He can hang with Sarah. They have lots in common when it comes to ill conceived remarks.

I like him too. I liked the way he was unabashedly in love with Barack from the very beginning and didn't care who knew it. It was unprofessional, but he risked it to go with his gut. I don't always agree with him, but you know he's got a good heart, and is always trying to do good, not harm. He's not a snake in the grass.
