LONDON — Live from the palace _ Condi Rice on piano!

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice performed in a piano quintet Monday night for Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.

Rice played Brahms' Op. 34 with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband's wife, Louise, on violin, and three members of the London Symphony Orchestra.

The queen gave Rice an audio recording of the performance as a gift.

Rice is a classically trained pianist who had expressed a wish to play at the palace.

She was making her final trip to Britain before President-elect Barack Obama takes office next month. On Tuesday, she gave a farewell speech to NATO foreign ministers in Brussels.

We all would have better off if all she did for the last 8 year was to play the piano.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Although, I think she's was an awful national security adviser and a mediocre SOS, I'm glad she got to fulfill her dream of playing for the Queen. That said she's very smart and talented, just stay out of politics and go back to education. :)

History, unlike HuffPo, will be very kind to Condi, a remarkably talented, intelligent woman.

Name one thing she has accomplished . . . oh right, NOTHING.

Donald Trump nailed it--she is a nice enough woman who can smile and wave for the cameras but NEVER makes the deal.

Politics aside I'll cut her some slack and actually congratulate her.

What an F-n achievement! People are dying all over the world, and this secretary of state is giving private concerts to some aristocrat. She is carrying on like a 21st. century in house slave.

Auntie Condi, Secretary of State, part-time music virtuoso, full time raging sycophant and moronic Anglo-phile.

She should have stuck to playing the piano. She is absolutely worthless as a diplomat.

Wow. One really has to admire the time management skills of Condoleeza Rice. While the world is on fire and spinning off its very axis, she still somehow managed to find time to play Fur Elise for the Queen. How charming.

See Elizabeth? Negros CAN think. I wonder if this one can balance a ball on her nose too?

Elizabeth: No, not think. They can be skilled like circus poodles.

The last thing we want Rice to do during her last few days is any more "work". I am perfectly fine with one n.u t playing piano to another.

I don't want her starting another war and killing another million civilians on her way out. With Obama coming in, he would get the blowback.

I wish we could watch a video of that concert. There are a number of very nice videos of Condi playing alone and with her quintet on YouTube.

That's so encouraging. I will tell this to my daughter (who hates piano). Perhaps this story will inspire her to practice. And maybe she will be appointed as Secretary of State and someday play for the queen after a terrorist attack.

And get a namesake oil tanker. (I wonder if she'll have her name put back on that big boat after Jan. 20th.)
