Clinton

Washington Post:

Leaving the news conference in Chicago yesterday where he introduced his national security team, President-elect Obama strolled out of the room arm in arm with his choice for secretary of state and one-time rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton. The gesture may have been a subtle indication that Obama is aware that one of the biggest questions about his choice of Clinton is the kind of relationship they will be able to forge in the months ahead.

Many of the most successful secretaries of state, though not all, enjoyed great influence with the presidents they served, giving them crucial leverage with foreign leaders and inside the national security establishment. But Obama and Clinton are only starting to develop the kind of rapport that could lead to that trust, and the ultimate success of the senator from New York in her new role may depend as much on Obama's willingness to admit her to his inner circle as her ability to master the intricacies of the Middle East peace process or North Korea's nuclear weapons program, according to senior foreign policy officials from past administrations.

Yes they will get along, they are both Dems who care deeply about their country. Get over the Dem primary already, I'm sick of the drama!

This is ridiculous. Clinton knows that she serves at the pleasure of Obama. She's not going to get in his way. The media needs to pull its head out of its collective rear ends

Clintons take a second seat to nobody including "the one"

The rookies will someday learn what experience has taught others about Clintonites.

Too bad the wide eyed followers of the latest chanter of hope will learn the hard way.

Hillary is not a diva. She will do what he job requires. That is how she approached her senate duties. O and Hillary clashed when they were battling for the Democratic prez nomination. Hillary will be a team player.

Hill is very egocentric, that is why I think she will do everything in her power
to do things of great significance during her tenure as SoS. She wants her own legacy
as opposed to living through Bill's.
She is a very determined woman and I think we will see her roar as far as carrying out
the Presidents orders. She definitely does not want to defy Obama as this would put
an end to her political career.
My only apprehension is the drama that comes with the Clinton's.
But as Tony Soprano always said...."Waddya gonna do"?

I've been reading some of your posts. There are obviously many things you don't get.
Here's a tip, but you won't listen. You're out of your league. Maybe infowars has a forum more suited to your conspiracy theory intellect. I'll have no more to say to you. Have a good day.

That is exactly what I posted yesterday and the day before on this worn out topic. She's a smart, ambitious woman. She's not going to allow her future to dwindle away out of foolish pride. She's too smart and too capable for that. Hillary knows that the world is watching this relationship, and should she appear to be trying to diminish her boss's authority, no one will ever want to work with her again, period. Call it a double standard, but that's how it is.

Sometimes, Huffpo seems more like an online tabloid.
It's been less than two months since the election, and ever since, there's been an almost
daily second-guessing the choices he's made.
He's not making these picks haphazardly. The man knows what he's doing.

NObama's appointments are receiving much praise in the MSM on the most part. Go figure.....
Holder may face an uphill battle in confirmation. He's surrounded himself with some very questionable economic advisors, namely Rubin and Volcker. Powers and Rice lean too far left and favor Palestine. He's also named a few pretty good choices, namely Hillary, Napalitano, and Jones. Pres Bush had his Powell, O'Neill and others that dissented and were farmed out after awhile. We'll see how it works out.

O / T, but this is boring.

If national health care becomes a reality, should citizens be forced to pay for medical care for families that have children when they know there is a high probability of genetic condition that will require medical care for life?

I wouldn't worry about it. With the two pro-corporate parties in power, there is about as much chance of nationalized health care in the USA as there is of 15-foot snow drifts in Havana.

But, in answer to your hypothetical question, yes, even if the child in question were yours.

I wouldn't put myself, or a potential child, in that position. How many liver transplants does an alcoholic get?

Now that's a controversial topic. I would assume the answer would be yes, because we get stuck with it if they just go to the county hospitals and don't pay the bill.

We can't withhold treatment regardless of the circumstances. That would just be inhumane.

We're not having national health care anyway. It's just the option to buy into health care.

Where I believe they share similar respect for Dick Morris.
