Clinton

Washington Post:

Leaving the news conference in Chicago yesterday where he introduced his national security team, President-elect Obama strolled out of the room arm in arm with his choice for secretary of state and one-time rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton. The gesture may have been a subtle indication that Obama is aware that one of the biggest questions about his choice of Clinton is the kind of relationship they will be able to forge in the months ahead.

Many of the most successful secretaries of state, though not all, enjoyed great influence with the presidents they served, giving them crucial leverage with foreign leaders and inside the national security establishment. But Obama and Clinton are only starting to develop the kind of rapport that could lead to that trust, and the ultimate success of the senator from New York in her new role may depend as much on Obama's willingness to admit her to his inner circle as her ability to master the intricacies of the Middle East peace process or North Korea's nuclear weapons program, according to senior foreign policy officials from past administrations.

I am so tired of negativity. Let's give all the teams appointed a chance to do their jobs. At least we will have someone in office with a plan and teams to carry out the plans. Please, please, please stop with the speculations and "what if's". Let Obama do his thing for eight years, then comment. Nothing could be worst than Bush.

You know what, I wish these types of headlines would just go away. It is getting to be pretty juvenile. This is especially true given the challenges that we currently face in this country. We get it...Hillary is a handful. Bill an even bigger challenge. I am someone whom wanted nothing to do with Hillary after her and Bill's behavior in the primaries. However, the continued bashing of Hillary is getting to be ridiculous. I will say the same thing that I said the other day, whether we like her or not, I hope to God we all support her. Give it a chance and stop trying to read tea leaves with respect to her and Obama's relationship.

I clicked onto this article because I could smell just this energy in the air.
"Change" has come, yet I still "HOPE" the media will stop dumming down
the American public , and underestimating their intelligence , indeed their
engagement with politics, with tabloid type text like this.

Obama and Hillary have always been good friends. I don't buy this rivalry nonsense from the msm, it's totally manufactured. It's just amazing to see gullible people falling for it.

Hillary was one of the greatest factors that enabled Obama's victory. In a sense she is like a big sister to him. The sibling rivalry in the primaries prepared Obama for what was to come in the General election. The two of them have a mutual trust of one another, despite popular opinion. Big sister Hillary stepped in and spoke up for her younger brother when it was most important in the election and now she will be at his right hand representing his policies to the world. Yes they fight sometimes but at the end of the day they are family. Keep in mind this saying:

"BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCK TOGETHER"

Something the media doesnt say when he went to the Senate she was one of the people he gravitated towards. She was one of the first people he told he was going to run for President. He admires her. Obama loves strong women thats something I notice about him. Susan Rice is one of his closest Foeign Policy advisors. Samantha Power helped shape his foreign policy. Sam herself said she never thought in a million years a politician would be that interested in anything she has to say. Look at his cabinet 3 women. He never had any animosity towards Hilary he admired her before running for President they were rivals during. I think folks hated HIlary so much they want to project that hatred onto him. But it was never there.

Hilary is a real team player. Any conjecture to the opposite is mere 'filling media time.'

Drama, drama, drama . . . the media-beast MUST have drama! And if none exists, it must be created!!

Yawn.

What is so hard for the meida to figure out? Obama is so far ahead of everyone else in his thinking, it's amusing to watch the fourth estate and the MSM vanity-types tripping all over themselves to guess his every nuance -- they don't have a clue.

Look, it's very simple: when you have someone with a strong personality disorder (narcissism) like Hillary, you're never going to be successful in trying to subdue it, so you feed it just enuf to satisfy it's non-lethal cravings, as you simultaneously attempt to blunt its negative effects (read: melodrama/psychodrama).

Obama knows exactly what he's doing. Sit back and watch a true maste at work. And just chill, OK?

Why oh why do I tor*ture myself by watching Morning Hoe and Mika in the morning? They were spewing so much B/S this morning that it was sickening. Between getting bent out of shape because Obama called out the press yesterday regarding their incessant need to look for a story with respect to his and Hillary's relationship, saying that Obama has been deemed the "Chosen One" by the media and is not used to answering tough questions and the Hoe's SHAMEFUL defense of Bush and his admission that he was not prepared to go to war, I have had it with these nitwits.

Who does this joke of a man think he is? He can assure us that in 10 years Bush will be judged more favorably? Really? Did someone forget to tell Bush that as the POTUS he is the Commander in Chief of our armed forces? Can you imagine if Obama had verbalized to anyone that as POTUS he is not prepared to go to war? I was disgusted!!!

Is there no alternative to this drivel? I like the guests but it is getting harder and harder to watch.

I stopped watching that show months ago. I can find a lot of frustrations in daily life without volunteering my mornings to Joe and Mika; and whatever Willy Geist is supposed to be.

"Will they get along"...This country has so many huge problems ahead for heaven's sake let's not start borrowing trouble by dissecting what might happen between Obama and Clinton. They are adults and smart ones at that. Too much over analyzing here.

I was really opposed to Hillary as SOS for many weeks. And my reservations did not differ very much from the those I've heard on tv and radio, and read in op eds, etc.

There has been a constant theme with regard to skepticism about Hillary as SOS, in analysis given on tv, on the radio, in op eds, etc: people wonder if she will stick to Obama's FP or try to push her own (just where they might differ); people wonder if they will clash; and people wonder if Bill will stay out of her job. Even those who favor the appointment, such as David Gergen, have raised the possibility that she is too strong a force to be taking much direction.

Bill has been a two-term president and has lots of FP experience, she has been a first lady and married to that two-term president, and, on that, both of them probably feel as if they could do this job together without much direction from Obama. I'd suggest they botj still believe he is too inexperienced. Add the fact that Obama is extremely open to advice and you have the potential for her to overreach and overstep.

Even so, I was quite taken with Hillary's attitude in the press conf. yesterday and even pleased for her. But how solemn she looked! As if she had just had a scary briefing or as if the enormity of the task ahead was just then washing over her.

Exactly he has always been praising HIlary in fact during the campaign Obama seem to have more problem with Bill than he did with Hialry. I cant believe that the Media asked about him saying that she had tea with foreign leaders and that was the extent of her Foreign policy. I mean come on she is on the Foreign relations committee how can anyone believe she is not qualified. The key word in his comment about the tea was that he was MOCKING her which means in and of itself it wasnt serious. Its like when he mocked her about Annie Oakely.
