Kids See Obama, Go Crazy In Philly (VIDEO)

As Obama was leaving Philadelphia, kids from Friends Select, a Quaker school across the street from his hotel, gathered at the gates.

An agent stood near the kids, who after about 15 minutes of waiting started chanting "Obama! Obama!"

When he came out of the hotel Obama crossed the street wearing a big grin. He shook hands and chatted with the kids for about a minute, smiling the whole time.

The kids jumped up and down and cheered. He shook a few hands through the bars of the gate.

My eight year old son wants his autograph badly. If he were to see him in person, he'd be out of his mind. He has said from the first time he heard him speak on TV that he felt PE Obama had nice eyes and a nice voice. He's been listening to Air America with me for at least a year now and always asks me when Rachel Maddow is on, he likes her voice and now loves to see her on MSNBC. He's a little politcal junkie, what have I done? ;0)

Conservatives are always on the losing side of history, thats why they are so bitter. We have the moral authority, and history will judge it as such.

Similar to how historians now laugh at the stupid frontiers men during the times of Benjamin Franklin, who were manipulated by the Rich aristocrats to vote against their own interests through identity politics and playing them against the Urban educated of the time. The future historians will laugh the conservative poor of this era who were misled by personal insecurity, anti-intel­lectualism­, and tribalism and acted against progress and their own interests.

Both sides can be traced back to the founding of the United States. One subscribes to the ideology of those traveling evangelicals who were battling Franklin and other Deistic free thinkers of their time. And the other to Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, etc.

Its just amazing to me how kids are so excited by him. He is not a movie star or someone from a popular kids show he is the next President of the US. How can you not be proud of that.

I've seen pictures of kids who were mostly black give him this reaction. Now we see white kids with the same reaction. He would get the same reception from my nephew's school (90% white.) Glad that the media is showing that he is inspiring to children everywhere, regardless of race.

My 9 year old nephew has a big Obama poster (in his very small bedroom) that he absolutely treasures.

My granddaughter got to go to Ohio with her Mom & aunt to campaign for Obama a couple of weekends this fall. She was the star of her school the following Monday. She had also asked me if I was voting for Obama or "the scary old guy". The kids have been really tuned in to this election.

Has we ever seen anything like this? Someone said "these kids are impressionable, easliy manipulated". What a foolish statement. When I was young as with ,mnay of us those impressions stay with us for years to come...I never say this with Bush ....or any other President in my life time. I was way to young for Kennedy. Ha, even my 3 1/2 year old daughter knows who Obama is. As a matter of fact, my wife had her on election day, took her into the voting booth, and it was she who actually cast the vote.

I didn't get to vote until I was 18! I can't wait to tell her in 15 or so years that she voted for the O man when she was 3!
