Did Sarah Palin talk about "terrorists"? These are the people who made the most hateful noise in McCain-Palin-rallies during the general election--and they are clearly domestic terrorists. This kind of hate is toxic. Little people afraid of life and anyone who is not of their clan or kin are a threat. They are hollow people who fill themselves with hate to mask what is missing from their lives. Without hate they have no purpose or voice but hate makes them feel, for a moment, complete.

Not even close. Even David Gergen went off on a republican strategist on CNN for that kind of statement. Rev. Wright was a decorated Veteran that gives him the right to criticize our gov't for the atrocities and hypocrisies of domestic and foreign policies. My daughter was over there a while ago & her friend's Dad played a "20 questions" game with her. Do you like salt or pepper- weird questions according to my daughter. I was uncomfortable with this so I pressed what else was asked & she said, "Well, he did ask whether you guys would prefer me to have a white or black boyfriend." I almost lost it, but kept my composure & asked, "And what did you say?"
She said, "I told him that you guys wouldn't care." *exhale* Good Girl.

As I proudly displayed my Obama gear, the mom was cancelling their newspaper because it came out in support of Obama. Their son stated in my class that he would be "ashamed" if Obama became our President.

This is a family who seem to fit the "model" of a good, moral family. They love their children,are responsible, contributing members of society. Yet, they are bigots. They are very sly about it- they know better than to say or do anything too openly as to invite criticism. But the kids don't know any better when they let things slip. I certainly don't fault the kids- they believe what they are taught at home. I grapple with this, unsure how to handle it. But I find myself showing them ways that embrace diversity and fight the toxic thought process of "white is right" whether it's through comments that I make, lessons I create in class, or through my actions.

This is very scary. But what makes me sad is how deep racism really goes & you don't know always who harbors those feelings. One family in my neighborhood is extremely racist, but cover it well on the surface.

As disturbing as this video is, racism, intolerance and hate will always exist. Racism is not an American problem, it's a human problem. Hopefully, with enough education and discussion we can reduce their numbers and make them irrelevant.

I watched the video and cried. It was deeply disturbing, and I am so afraid to dream. I had a revelation the night those two skinheads were caught in TN. I was laying in bed with my husband and I told him that I was scared for Obama. The next day, they caught the skinheads and it was all over the news. So ironic, that I live in TN, just outside of Nashville. I am elated, and sometimes, I start to dream, but then I catch myself. I remember, Kennedy and King and I pray. I pray every night, that good wins out this time, just for once. Never underestimate the power of prayer. If we all pray, he will hear us.
