Extremely upsetting. Of course we all know those people are out there, but when we see something like this we have to think about it. I cannot comprehend how people grow to be so full of hate. I am not religious but I do pray every night for Obama's safety. Don't know what else to do.

I have an idea, why not recruit these supremacists as mercenaries

Some of them have already been recruited as mercenaries, and they relish in the fact they're allowed to openly carry weapons and murder brown people (many of whom are innocent) with sanction from our government.

I'm leery of anything alarmist, but the topic is good to discuss. Hate, and rage are becoming accepted forms of self expression, with the various media acting as a force multiplier. A more pervasive and accepted form of resentment seems to me to be a bigger threat.

It's the one fueled by Pat Buchanan, Sarah Palin, and all the other now completely institutionalized validators like Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck...

While the primaries were going on, a killing at a Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Tennessee brought absolutely NO COMMENT, except for a single segment of Bill Moyers Journal.

I believe that Obama is probably safer as president-elect and president than he was as a candidate. Particularly in this post-9/11 world. The people who would try to harm him are not that smart. And they are being constantly watched by the FBI and Secret Service, along with private groups like the ADL and Southern Poverty Law Center. I have a great deal of confidence in the Secret Service. But I also pray for the safety of our new president and his family as well.

THe unfortunate reality is that a person or group intent on doping harm to anyone can usually meet theior goals. IT is a sad commentary that we in this country are so enamoured with guns and violence.

People of Faith must pray everyday for the safety of all of our leaders, but particularly BHO. We should also pray for a population informed by Love and not Hate.

I grew up in the south, now in NYC, and my parents could not have been more different - Democrat professor dad with a PhD, interested in and accepting of all, just a wonderful thoughtful man. Mom, high school ed, just so biased, anti anything different, making ridiculous blanket statements about blacks, Indians, everyone..­..a lifelong Republican.

It's fear - fear of not being able to control things or know exactly what is happening and what will be happening, fear of anything different, fear of finding out that the fear is irrelevant. And it's fear of appearing stupid or ignorant, a desperate need for self-worth and self-esteem. If I can convince myself that I'm better than someone or something else, I can feel smart, worthy, on top of things. If I dare admit that I'm wrong, I lose my carefully built up framework of belief, and am lost.

I think this is the GREATEST fear of racists. The very core of who they believe they are and therein the core of their world view, or how they see themselves in relation to others and to the world they live in, depends upon their self-delusion that they are inherently superior to others different from themselves, solely because of the color of their skin. For them, protecting and preserving this delusion is a matter of survival, because if they lose it, they lose their sense of self. Ultimately, they're threatened by anyone or anything that seeks to dispel this delusion, and the idea of a black man holding the highest office in our land and being the leader of our nation and free world, is perhaps the most formidable threat to their self-image than anything they could have ever imagine. And for some of them, it's a threat that has to be eliminated, because it threatens to shatter their deluded reality irrevocably.

It's one thing for a black man to move next door to them or for a black child to sit next to their child in a classroom - that's bad enough. But when a black man becomes their President ... their world becomes unglued.

We're in another country going after those "that hate our freedom" while people here are working on making sure certain groups they don't like don't have their freedoms. The freedom to walk down the street without the fear of being called hateful names, being kidnapped, having a cross burned on their front lawn, etc.

Who is ANP and why do they produce trash documentaries like this?

The white supremacist movement has been around since the early days of this country when the founding fathers deemed slaves to be 3/5s of a citizen.

Is it resurging due to Obama's election? Who knows, since the documentary provides no figures.

You want to believe the shameless self-promotor David Duke about figures to the web sites be my guest. Its as good as believing anything else you have no proof of.

I'm not downplaying the threat of violence public figures face but to portray these groups as anything but fringe elements borders on paranoia.

This past election shows while we're still not a perfect union, as a country we are a long way from the world this documentary shows. The threats remain but we're aware of them and have them monitored.

All ANP did with this documentary is produce an infomercial for the white supremacist movement.

It gave them an importance they just don't have in this society.

No, I wouldn't place blame on the American News Project. They do documentaries on topics that the MSM refuses to report on. I don't think their aim is to promote the white supremacist movement. Just because its a topic that we don't like doesn't mean they should't report on it. The topic is a reality.
