WASHINGTON — President Bush's former political director says the national security team named by President-elect Barack Obama "represents, to a substantial degree, continuity" especially in hot spots like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Karl Rove said on NBC's "Today" show the naming of the national security team is "a reminder that continuity exists particularly in our foreign and international relations."

Rove pointed to the retention of Defense Secretary Robert Gates and the naming of James Jones as national security adviser, a Vietnam war veteran who rose to become a Marine four-star general and served as military chief of NATO during the Bush administration. Obama also named Hillary Rodham Clinton as his nominee for secretary of state.

Why would Huffpo print anything that karl rove says, except of course, goodbye?

With a little deflation, he and cheney might fit in the same steamer trunk.

It should be noted that Gates was appointed only two years ago after Bush finally had to say good-bye to Rummy. Gates himself represents a break from the long-standing failed defense policies of the Bush administration.

He's been in national intelligence off and on, mostly on, since 1966. How could he not have worked for Republican administrations during that span?

That's why we voted for change alright, so we could pursue "continuity" with the Bush agenda...

Continuity We Can Believe In...!

Spoke too soon Pillsbury Boy! As of this morning, Gates in, Rumy's cronnies at the Pentagon, OUT!! Rove keeps on exposing himself to be continually out of touch to what is going on in Washington. Will never forget on election night when Rove was talking to Brit Hume and I quote: "McCain has to win Ohio to still be in this race". Brit then said: "Ah, Karl, Obama just took Ohio". Priceless.

Why do we have to have Rove's ugly mug fouling the Huffingtonpost site? Every time he's shown here my venom rises or it's mal de mer.

These are two people that I wish would just go away, Karl Rove and Sarah Palin. Bush and Cheney too, but there time is coming, these other two people don't care about. Its time for America to just move on from this 8 years of disaster, and I hope that we are never hoodwinked again.

My sentiment exactly! Why is the world would the Today Show give this slime bucket the time of day. He should be in prison for outing a CIA agent! Matt Lauer couldn't find any other right winger to interview?! Everyone should call NBC and complain. Get this blowhard off the air!

Yes. If you give the same tools and materials to two carpenters, they will inevitably build two very different houses. While one may be just passable the other can be not only durable, but stylish, functional and completely livable. The latter one is what I think our man "O" has in mind.

Let's do this!!!!!
