Politico:

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski has some Republican-to-Republican advice for Gov. Sarah Palin: If you want to make a run at the White House, keep your hands off my Senate seat.

Murkowski, up for reelection in 2010, is nervously awaiting word on whether John McCain's former running mate will run against her in the GOP primary. But she says Palin is the one who should be nervous.

"I can guarantee it would be a very tough election," Murkowski said in an interview.

I suggest we urge Palin to run for Murkowski's seat, taking a leaf from the Rush Limpaw play-book, and then donate money to Murkowski's re-election campaign!

I agree. I will GLADLY send a few dollars Murkowshki's way to help her beat this nitwit. If it will help to drive a sta*ke through the heart of Palin and slow down her plans to run for POTUS...I'm in!! Just let me know when.

Wow, you just have to stand back in amazement at Alaska politics. Lisa Murkowski, who acquired her Senate seat through sheer cronyism rather than her qualifications, has already been caught with her hand in the cookie jar. (She recently had to return a large parcel of riverfront property that she "purchased" through a very shady real estate transaction.) Let's hope her idea of fighting off Palin is to uncover the means by which Palin was able to afford the "house that Todd built" in Wasilla. The amount of dirty laundry these two are about to pile up will probably rival the snow drifts in Juneau. Let it rip, ladies!

Sarah is the, "Miss Congeniality," of the Republican party. She smiles, works the rope line, attracts media and crowds. Sad but true, it's all the Republicans have at the moment.

A political threat to anyone? ... Hardly.

I have a very strong feeling that Murkowski would kick Palin's overexposed arse, if it came down to who gets the Senate seat!

I have that same feeling. If she tries, I bet they'll have to scarpe her up off the floor by the time Sen. Murkowski is finished with her.

I bet it's a wide, broad seat and she must not want anyone to see it, not even her good friend from the great state of Alaska, Sarah Palin. . .

The media is setting Sarah Palin up for the Walter Mondale landslide defeat of 1984

Because a large number of people in this country, called republican's, think she's the cats meow. And she's the perfect reflection of who they are; shallow, inarticulate, superficial, love to lie, think that BS passes for knowledge and believe that mentioning THE TROOPS proves you are a super patriot.

46% of the voters chose McCain / Palin this last November; did you miss that, too? You have to reconcile with yourself that half this country is Goober Nation; deal with it.

What was glossed over in the campaign was the fact that Palin's "Sarah Baraccuda" basketball moniker was because of her aggressive actions towards her TEAMMATES, not the other team. It was a relentless "take her out and put me in coach" not play on her team that earned that. She has a well documented history of abandoning or attacking former political allies when she thought it was in her interest to do so. No wonder Murkowski is looking over her shoulder.

I think the Dem strategist has Palin's number pegged--"Sarah is going to to what is good fro Sarah" and that is that--one thing is clear with that lady--she sure is ambitious--and will throw anyone under the bus to get what she wants-----and for those who like her--they don't care about things like "party loyalty" or care much for things like seniority---they think SARAH is the second coming of Jesus or something----they will do what whatever they think it takes to get her to where they want to see her--sitting in the big chair in the Oval Office.

All I can say if that woman ever does get elected president of this nation--may God help us!! That will surely push us way down the road to the demise of this country.

Toots, sarah BELIEVES all the hype the media and the repubs have spread about her. She isn't nervous at all but you should be.
Go after your job? She probably already considers it a done deal that it will be hers.

No incumbent wants competition in his or her primary contest so it is understandable Sen. Murkowski is worried about a possible Palin run. She is wrong to assert “If she wants to be president, I don’t think the way to the presidency is a short stop in the United States Senate,” It worked for President-elect Obama.

I think what Senator Murkowski is really hoping is that Sarah Palin will have a difficult time even gaining a US Senate seat after the next 2 years as an increasingly unpopular and politically distracted governor (her popularity is at an all time low at barely 60% today).

She will be leaving her governor's seat in chaos in 2010 after 2 years of flitting all around the country pumping up her own resume while the state of Alaska languishes in recession more severe than the rest of the country, thanks to Palin's profligate dividends to state residents when gas prices were high.
