Politico:

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski has some Republican-to-Republican advice for Gov. Sarah Palin: If you want to make a run at the White House, keep your hands off my Senate seat.

Murkowski, up for reelection in 2010, is nervously awaiting word on whether John McCain's former running mate will run against her in the GOP primary. But she says Palin is the one who should be nervous.

"I can guarantee it would be a very tough election," Murkowski said in an interview.

What I find funny is that this lady says" the way to the white house is not a short stop in the senate" Excuse me lady, does the name Obama ring a bell? Please don't argue people, he started running for president very shortly after being elected to the senate.

I think Obama was in the Senate for 2 years before he started running.
Muskowski is pointing out that Palin wouldn't be in the Senate for 2 months before she'd have to start her run. That's a little bit of a difference (I think).

Right. And Obama is a very rare case. Palin is your average everyday ambition hound.

And what if he did?!

He had a vision to make this country better and I for one am glad he started running for President, whenever he started!

As for Palin, she has a vision for her own self glory, she could not care less about this country!

Obama served in the Illinois state senate and then the US Senate, whereas Palin would have spent little time as Governor, then even less time as a Senator before she would start running for President.

At least Obama has ideas and a vision for this country, Palin is merely in it for the fame and glory... she should ask how that worked out for Hillary and her ex running mate John McCain.

IWith oil prices down, Alaska, in a few years, will become more of a challenge to govern as the huge budget surplus will be gone and Sarah won't be able to hand out big checks to the residents. The thought of a state not able to run on auto-pilot and actually having to roll up your designer sleeves is probably a lot less appealing to Sarah.

If she does go up against Lisa then she will have to fight for the job without hiding behind the "your being sexist card" whenever she is pressed about serious issues. I suspect Lisa is capable of being just as ruthless as Sarah, and so it would be an interesting race to watch.

Yes, I think a battle between 2 women is just what we need to get rid of her.

With the unflattering pix Huffington put up of Murkowski, I doubt many would watch that fight. (wink)

It could be interesting. If Murkowski is the slightest bit willing to work in the bipartisan way that Palin and her righty friends claim is needed in this country, then Palin and her righty friends will say Murkowski is compromising too much and the Senate needs a "True" conservative.

I can't wait, I hope the Dems in Alaska have someone good to take advantage of the chaos.

What should be said is why isn't she in alaska doing her job. Palin is a joke and if she thinks the good people of Alaska are not watching her every move she is mistaken. Come election 2010 they will vote for anyone but Palin.

Baby Murkowski's become rather protective of the position her daddy appointed her to. Given a choice, though, I'll take this little princess over the cheerleader anyday!

Like Bush, Palin will never do a day of work. She'd rather spend all her time promoting herself to a higher office with more power.
