I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Campbell Brown dedicated her "Cutting Through the Bull" segment to Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell Tuesday night over a remark he made while he did not know his microphone was on.

Speaking about Obama's Homeland Security Secretary pick, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, Rendell said, "Janet's perfect for that job. Because for that job, you have to have no life. Janet has no family, perfect. She can devote, literally, 19-20 hours a day to it."

Brown — while never using the words "sexist" or "sexism" — (somewhat apologetically) chastised Rendell for the remark, which she suggested would never be made towards a man and unfairly focuses on work-family balance because Napolitano is a woman.

"I don't meant to rake you over the coals," she said to the always-candid Governor, "I know what you meant to say. But your comments do perpetuate stereotypes that pus us in boxes, both mothers and single women."

Brown is trying to define her role, carve out a niche as it were. It ain't working.

Yeah it's not.

Keith and Bill have the 8pm slots on lock there is no way she can compete.

Remark could have been made of a man as well as woman. So not sexist. Probably not nice to say someone has no life. On the other hand, a workaholic would probably take it as a compliment. Just the fact that I am writing this probably shows that I have no life. And I am just not sure how to feel about that. Probably just to numb to feel.

I agree with Campbell.

what comes out of CB's mouth simply reveals that her head is unusually empty.

CNN has simply gone back to it's role of fauxLite, republican propaganda machine.

The problem with Campbell is that one night during the election season she got herself 5 minutes of fame and now she is trying too hard ...a) to pretend she is this hardliner and b) to raise her ratings trying to compete with Keith Olbermann in that time slot.
No can do, little Missy! Lots of bias and.. way too much bull...and she just doesn't have IT!

Campbell, please stop talking.
Straw men are not good argument fodder.
please, just stop.

she stole the 'rant' idea from Olbermann. Now like Palin, CB looks worse the more she opens her mouth.

How does she know Rendell would not have said the same thing about about a man in the same situation? She psychic or something? C'mon, Campbell, go back to being a real reporter, not another talking hardass.

To compete with Fox, Campbell Brown has had to empty her head of rational thought. They hope, that way, that her shown will be mistaken for Fox News. That would explain a couple of her recent statements, because she's certainly become more shallow. If she keeps it up, she'll qualify to sit next to Bill O.

Does Brown REALLY think he was being serious?

This is just another case of her looking for literally AYTHING to get her face in the news.

Arghhh, Campbell, ...so annoying. I remember when she first went on national tv and when she'd talk she'd do this weird mouth stretching thing as if to make what she was saying more relevant by elongating her mouth. Holy smokes was THAT annoying. So much so that complaints flew in and she was yanked from the air and told to tone that facial weirdness down. Now, she thinks she's an intellectual, serious reporter? LMAO...all these silly things she asks people...oh, and I still see a hint of the facial mouth- stretchy weirdness every so often. YIKES.

Her jaw bothers me a lot! The way that bottom jaw sticks out when she speaks ..and don't like that teethy smile either!

You mean she used to be WORSE with the mouth? On the rare occasions I see her talking, I always wonder why she opens her mouth SO wide for normal speech. Most people would only do that if they were screaming bloody murder. Weird.

Actually, I can think of the remark as cutting in other ways than talking about gender per se. And what's with that photo of Brown? Are you sure her cat isn't named Miss Precious Perfect?

Shocking that Campbell has taken yet another position in order to simply be contrary. It isn't a matter of her own personal values, but her need to make some news.

Campbell has become plain mean spirited as of late. She has nothing of relevance to say and is so shallow. No personality, no sense of humor - just YUCK!!!

As always, CNN is delving into endless comment and discussion about something that doesn't quite measure up to the wars, famines, and plagues that infest the world. We ourselves are engaged in two wars, one of which isn't going terribly well and the other is on the verge of disaster. And yet, CNN can only "report" on open-mic mistakes. This is the mark of a "news" organization that lacks the talent, money, and will to actually go out there and investigate what's happening in the world. Hence, "Headline News" is full of right-wing screamers, and regular CNN is a series of "in-depth commentators."
Thank goodness we have the internet and the foreign press.

you are so right, still waiting for her to talk about the ongoing mess in New Orleans, where years later, folks are still living in asbestos filled, useless trailers and entire neighborhoods look like a warzone. Where is here outrage.

How about talking about Darfur as the entire world turns a blind eye.

As I recall the last person to focus on such issues got canned ( Paula Zahn) due to "low ratings".
I guess the masses are more interested in Brittany Spears making a comeback than the plight of their fellow man, or their own diminishing paychecks.

How's about her talking about David Duke and co? Huh....instead of making a production out of some puerile nothingness.
