I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Campbell Brown dedicated her "Cutting Through the Bull" segment to Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell Tuesday night over a remark he made while he did not know his microphone was on.

Speaking about Obama's Homeland Security Secretary pick, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, Rendell said, "Janet's perfect for that job. Because for that job, you have to have no life. Janet has no family, perfect. She can devote, literally, 19-20 hours a day to it."

Brown — while never using the words "sexist" or "sexism" — (somewhat apologetically) chastised Rendell for the remark, which she suggested would never be made towards a man and unfairly focuses on work-family balance because Napolitano is a woman.

"I don't meant to rake you over the coals," she said to the always-candid Governor, "I know what you meant to say. But your comments do perpetuate stereotypes that pus us in boxes, both mothers and single women."

Does Huff need more reporters/bloggers?

Its beyond all comprehension that there is not a drop of commentary on this piece, to me that spells either endorsement or acceptance that she is an honest broker in the media.

If I ran a progressive site, I would spell out all pertinant facts about a pundit.

It took death for many of us to find out Russert was a form Dem operative.

What will it take for the people to know that Cambell is not just a republican, but married to an active GOP strategist (you know, the guys who are paid to plan defeating us)?

Or that "liberal" msnbc decided to use another Republican, again married to a paid insider to anchor so much election night coverage (which is why it was no suprise she focused on racial divisions pessimistically (as in racism was the status quo).

anyways, the media will mow us down if we are not vigilant, and I am terribly dissapointed in this site for not making an article out of this clip, your silence is deafening.

It does not matter to me who she is married or what kind of car she drives, all she does is shoot from the hip, and she is supose to keep them honest. Oops that is wrong, I mean thats the other CNN reporter who sell us their news. Seriously, Americans have been kept in the dark by these so called journalist and it just makes us look bad, when we don't have a clue of what is really happening, until after the fact and when its too late.
Perhaps we can wonder what is left with the forty eight days of Bush.

I hope the Huffington Post read this comment. You can do much better Huffington Post. Ed still has that same shoe stuck in his mouth. Campbell Brown again you have proven to be a distraction and worthless as a news source. Campbell you are quickly becoming one of my least favorite people to watch on the television.

Is Danny Shea the republican balance that Ariana brags so much on TV about.

Why would any Democrat view this video then present it with ZERO commentary, its as if Shea is saying:

"Huffington Post has no problem at all with Cambell Brown"

I guess Eat the Press is dead?

I miss Rachel, she never feared the RW media.

I know she's not the one writing these headlines, but she's always presenting hitting, slugging, attacking, slamming, etc., etc., etc., somebody....nearly always a man too.
Interesting.
Can't help but wonder -- is "Danny" always concocting all of these lead-ins? What, if anything is the deal?
(p.s. I'm not much of a Campbell Brown fan by the way, but this is getting a little silly)

Campbell (is this really her name?) is scared that she is the next Paula Zahn. Her boobs sag and she should never wear turtlenecks.

Wow, fashion and gravity is your framework for sophisticated judgment? Is this the best you can do?

No, it's reality vs pragmatism.

Cambell built her career off of her looks.

Paula did the same thing (at least all the media critics said that after her hiring).

When the schtick failed, she revamped her show, made it much smarter, then she got canned.

Rachel Maddow on the other hand, does not use her sexuality to sell anything and is leaps and bounds smarter, yet she has huge ratings.

Looks like Fox and CNN should focus on content over eye candy.

I give Cambell one year, if the bloggers get off their asses and take her to the woodshed, 6 months.

Its not gonna happen here as it seems the editors love her.

Would someone please tell Campbell Brown to shut the hell up already. This self proclaimed exposer of bull is more full of it than most of her rant victims.

Campbell is getting pretty annoying with all these commentary roll-outs on very "petty" issues. Where the h*ll was she when Bush, Rove, etc. was blowing up our reputation in the world with torture and destroying our civil liberties in this country?

I asked Campbell yesterday the same thing. She is only one reporter who is very sensitive to these issues now. However, the press had no comment in 2000 & 2004 when Bush, Rove lies and coverups were approved daily news coverage. The Press spout these Conservative view points like its the only one that exist. The Press tries to act like they know what "fair & balance" coverage is but the press has no idea what that means.

uh-oh ms brown is veering off the tracks. this is a bogus accusation. i've heard people say about men that they have no family responsibilities and/or no life... calling it sexist is dumb! and pretty shallow. damn, campbell i thought you had a little more depth. oh well.

Making someone publicly accountable for privately made comments is what's rude.

I guess they don't care about Janet Napolitano's feelings. Anything for a story.

Another pathetic rant from a desperate Cambell Brown. Can't she find something legitimate to get all hot and bothered about? Looking at what has gone over the last eight years with zero comment from the likes of Brown this looks even more silly. The thing is, as long as Huff Po continues to hype her positive or negative, she will keep doing these silly rants.

Campbell Brown please, where's your outrage over the Bush Adm. for all the mess they got us in over the last 8yrs. Need I mind you Brown that Bush lied and people are dying, innocent Americans, Iraqies, and people are losing their jobs and retirement savings and you want to talk about what someone said about Palin, a woman who ever one knows is not qualified to be V.P., let alone be President. So Brown stop trying to make a name for yourself.

Time to cut through the Camp"bull!" Her commentary is the sort of bull the country really needs to cut through. Problem is she has a bull pulpit. But we have the clicker. Bye Bye, "click."

Brown needs to stop trying to do an Olbermann worst person in the world version. Her complaints are personal and have no place in day time supposed-news reporting forums. Most of her complaints are not in tune with more than half the viewers in a professional forum leaving her comments in the world of opinions without validity.
