Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss, fresh off his victory in a runoff election against Democrat Jim Martin, says Sarah Palin gave him the boost he needed. "I can't overstate the impact she had down here," the Republican Senator said in an interview on Fox News Wednesday morning.

"We had John McCain and Mike Huckabee and Gov. Romney and Rudy Giuliani, but Sarah Palin came in on the last day, did a fly-around and, man, she was dynamite," Chambliss said. "We packed the houses everywhere we went. And it really did allow us to peak and get our base fired up."

"When she walks in a room, folks just explode," he added. And they really did pack the house everywhere we went. She's a dynamic lady, a great administrator, and I think she's got a great future in the Republican Party."

Chambliss was forced into a runoff when he failed to win a majority of the vote on November 4th. In Tuesday's runoff, he beat Martin by double-digits.

It is interesting that Saxby Chambliss thinks that Sarah Palin is what got him re-elected. I would think he would believe it is because the people of the Great State of Georgia think he is doing a good job. Chambliss more than likely won because there are still so many people down there and in the south in general, who have never excepted the fact that they lost the civil war. The mentality that keeps people like him in power is far from dead and gone.

Any "hate" directed at Palin ( and that is too strong a word) is because she is the personification of the poitics of hate with race-baiting and fear mongering thrown in for good measure. She is profoundly ignorant and the anithesis of what most thinking women value. She is a right wing ideologue with scary ties to religious extremists.
Last, but not least, she is profoundly ill-equipped as a leader because of her devisiveness and narrow worldview.
Joe the Plumber is a human gimmick who is making money from his 15 minutes of staged fame.
He no more respresents the average American than do the billionaires on Wall St.

Newsflash!! Sarah Palin's infamous pregnancy is being discussed again - a newly discovered picture which was taken on 26 March 2008, three weeks before the birth of Trig, showed a suspiciously small belly:

The key to his win was the lack of will of many of the good people of Georgia to get off their turkey laden behinds and get out and vote.
Shame on them....they deserve that foul old r a c i s t creature.

As for what the other creature did or didn't do for him....please, I just ate lunch.

Palin is excellent!

I have yet to read any post here from anti-Palin people who can actually state any clear, logical reason why Sarah Palin was not beneficial to Chambliss.

Why do you think Palin is excellent? What is excellent about her? Is it her hair or her wink?
Or is it something more important perhaps relating to her character - like how she said Obama pals around with terrorists, and then got the crowds to shout out "kill him"?

Please, elaborate for us.

Yeah it was because of Palin. It had absolutely nothing to do with Georgia being one of the reddest of the red states.

On the other hand, I really want the Republicans to keep thinking that Palin is the one who can rescue the party. Run Sarah Run!

I lived in Georgia for six months, and except for Atlanta its like living in a third world country of backward illiterate rednecks who would re-elect George Bush. These people are still fighting the Civil War, there is no way Barack Obama would have made a difference in the out come of the election. The Republicans could have run a chicken and it would have won.

Thats cool. She is a great motivator, and the boo hoos don't quite get that they need a bit of motivation. The same crew is still running this nation that has for the past 20 years. You all put them there. All of them. Over and Over and Over again. Maybe there won't be a 2012. Lighten up!

Too bad that the citizens of the state of Georgia re-elected a man who panders to such base emotions as he campaigns. As a person who was born in Georgia, I wish this were not the case. It appears, however, that the Southern strategy of the Republican party is very much alive and well. How odd, as an American who lives overseas, I've yet to meet someone in the UK, Ireland, or any other place I've visited who is anything but thoroughly enthused by our new president.

Palin the key??

That's rich.

Chambliss didn't give her enough time to bring his campaign crashing down like McCain's.

And of course, the vid is from Fox News.
