Chambliss: Palin Key To My Win (VIDEO)

Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss, fresh off his victory in a runoff election against Democrat Jim Martin, says Sarah Palin gave him the boost he needed. "I can't overstate the impact she had down here," the Republican Senator said in an interview on Fox News Wednesday morning.

"We had John McCain and Mike Huckabee and Gov. Romney and Rudy Giuliani, but Sarah Palin came in on the last day, did a fly-around and, man, she was dynamite," Chambliss said. "We packed the houses everywhere we went. And it really did allow us to peak and get our base fired up."

"When she walks in a room, folks just explode," he added. And they really did pack the house everywhere we went. She's a dynamic lady, a great administrator, and I think she's got a great future in the Republican Party."

Chambliss was forced into a runoff when he failed to win a majority of the vote on November 4th. In Tuesday's runoff, he beat Martin by double-digits.

There is nothing hateful about Sarah Palin's words, actions or life. You know it and can't stand it. I take all similar comments on the Puff Host with a grain of salt. These same complaints were repeated constantly against Reagan too and he ended up being one of our greatest presidents ever. The very fervor with which you and fellow liberals complain belies your stated "belief" that Sarah is "nothing" and she appeals to no one but "idiots".

I saw hate directed at Joe the Plumber for daring to ask an elected official a question. I saw hate directed at John McCain for having war injuries. Ay, chihuahua. JTP was vilified because John McCain continued to misrepresent him during the debate. Of course people wanted to know who he really was. If McCain had not brought it up, he would have been someone who asked Obama a question, which Obama had the courtesy to answer honestly.

I'm almost convinced that the Repubs are going to use Palin as the sacrificial lamb in 2012. It's likely the recession will be well over and the economy moving up again, the Iraq war and likely Afghanistan will be over, and Obama will probably have a pretty good approval rating. He'll have a billion dollar plus re-election fund. Presidents are usually re-elected.

I simply don't see any of the serious contenders willing to waste the effort in 2012 when 2016 will be an open contest as Biden will be 73 and almost assuredly not running. I think they are going to let Palin take the loss in 2012 so that she's out of the way for 2016.
