"Mad" Man To Play "30 Rock" Love Interest

LOS ANGELES — Jon Hamm is temporarily trading the offices of Sterling Cooper for "30 Rock."

The actor, who plays advertising executive Don Draper on AMC's "Mad Men," will portray the love interest of Tina Fey character Liz Lemon _ a doctor who lives in her apartment.

Could it last?

"I just finished a couple of episodes, and I'll go back in the new year and do another one of those, and then we'll see what happens," Hamm said Tuesday at a benefit for the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.

He is so yummy!! Love Mad Men! He used to be a high school teacher!
He was great on SNL; there was a hilarious skit that was done where he played James Mason on a spoof of Vincent Price's Halloween Special (Kristine Wiit WAS Gloria Swanson!) and he was better at being James Mason then James himself! I highly recommend it if you need a good laugh! (NBC website to SNL site to videos - not hard to find)

I like Jon Hamm, but 30 Rock needs to take it easy with the guest stars. Every episode this season has stunt casting. I understand NBC wants more viewers for this show, but I find it distracting.

I LOVE 30 rock but their worst episodes are usually centered around guest stars (Steve Martin, Paul Reubens etc)

Jon Hamm may be the perfect man - handsome beyond belief, funny as heck, talented, interesting, smart, and just a little vulnerable to make you want to take care of him. (I really want to make him soup while he watches sports.) He has great timing, and is very funny - so he'll be perfect on 30 Rock - I can't wait! He was hilarious on SNL - check out hulu .com to see his skits.

They described Jennifer Westfeldt as his wife - but they are not married - just doing the Goldie Hawn/Kurt Russell thing (I've read) - and frankly those non-married relationships seem to last the longest in Hollywood! They seem sweet and happy together.
