Oprah To Inauguration, She Tells Access Hollywood

Oprah Winfrey is headed to Washington for inauguration, she tells Access Hollywood:

The media mogul (and staunch Barack Obama supporter) will be hosting "The Oprah Winfrey Show" from Washington, D.C. during the week of the presidential inauguration, she revealed to Access Hollywood exclusively at an Essence Magazine event in New York on Tuesday night.

"I'm going to break that right here; that's where I'm going to be," Oprah told Access. "See you there . . . that's the place to be."

She also confirmed to Access that she has rented out the Opera House at the Kennedy Center to film the show.

Other celebrities expected to attend inauguration include Bruce Springsteen, Will.i.am, Anne Hathaway, Spike Lee, Tim Robbins, Maggie Gyllenhaal and many other prominent Obama supporters.

I love this woman so much I can't stand it. She single-handedly delivered over one million votes in the razor close primary. Two brilliant economists proved that without Oprah he would have lost the nomination:

And yet she's so humble. She demands no public thank you, no cabinet position, she doesn't even demand the first interview. Her love for him is genuine & unconditional.

I don't know that she ""personally" delivered 1 million votes. She is in Chicago. It is hard not to get at least 5 million anyway.

Plus I have seen everyone and their mother claim credit for Obama's victory. Oprah herself would tell you, it took a coalition of everyone imaginable in America to stand up and be counted, and they were. So she alone would never say she "won Obama the election".

She was one of many.

Oprah is so lucky to be able to go the inauguration. I wish I could go too, but it does seem like it would be a very cold day. I think I prefer to see it from home. I bet you there will be just everyday folks there in her audience. I'm sure she probably made room for some special guest, but Oprah has done all her shows with just everyday people, the only special quest she usually have are the people that she is interviewing. People are just so jealous that this women has become a Billionaire on her own terms. I bet if they had a book they were pushing, Oprah would be the best thing since slided bread if they thought it would line their pockets. Get over it, she endorsed the President Elect from the get go and she was right, so she has a right to celebrate just like the rest of America. Even on Election night, she didn't use her celebrity status to get to the front of the crowd, she was back in the middle of the crowd and the people that saw her, they all told her she could move up front, so it was the everyday people that offerered her and her few friends the up front spots, that's why whe was leaning a man she didn't know, and yes she asked the man could she lean on him and he said yes, then they found out who he was for her after she mentioned it on her show, so she had him come to her show so she could thank him.

Well, the only thing bad I know about Oprah's audiences is that she has the most attractive and best dressed put in the front seats.

Not a huge thing, I guess, but seems a little...s­nobby. You know everyone dresses up as nicely as they can for her show (and have waited a long time for their tickets). I think the policy is a bit ... snobby.

Other than that, for a woman of her power, celebrity, and wealth, I really can't fault her.

Would you want / expect him to pay for us to attend? Kind of defeats the purpose of giving, doesn't it?

So rich people can afford things easier. I'm sure Oprah also has an invitation to dinner at the WH that I didn't get. Doesn't change the fact that I'm proud I was able to help get Obama elected (and expect nothing in return except an amazing President!!!) in a -very- small way.

I don't resent people who are able to go to the Inauguration, although I defnitely do ENVY them....(A­nd I bet there'll be some of us $25 donors among the 4 million watching on Jan 20....)

Oprah is healthy but not thin. She works and eats healthy. She has a thyroid problem which prevents her from being as skinny as you seem to think women should be. She has been in a very long-term relationship with Steadman. You don't seem to know much about her yet feel free to post comments about her? I don't really watch her as i'm not home during the day but am aware of the service she provides many people. And yes one can watch her show and read a book and take a walk and listen to great music and watch educational television. Why such hate?

actually, the hate didn't originate from me. I asked a couple of questions which one person seem to answer without hate. I was just curious why people just take everything she says as gospel instead of making their own decisions. I believe I have my answer. Also, having gone through the thyroid issue myself, I know it is not a legit reason for the excesssive pounds. And yes, by definition, she is obese even though most don't want to admit this. I didn't even say there was anything wrong with being obese. She may be very happy being large and that is okay. I believe maybe these people should keep watching Oprah and maybe she can pass on some manners and reduce the hate.

Know the truth, and the truth will set you free - IF you acknowledge it and not wallow in the slime of hatred, which doesn't even rise to the level of 'pathetic!'

Oprah towers above bottom feeders who criticize rather than recognize and promote goodwill.

We as a country are beyond fortunate to have President-elect Obama waiting in the wings of a disastrously mismanaged country. May he and his well-chosen team have every success!
