CPS Makes Famous Alumni Mix On iTunes

Chicago Public Schools has posted a mix of popular songs by its alumni musicians on iTunes.

This isn't a money-making effort -- directly -- but a way to bring attention to CPS' rich musical heritage and alumni Web site. It's certainly a no-cost marketing move that can't hurt -- remember all the attention heaped on Dunbar Vocational High School when Jennifer Hudson was on American Idol?

Board of education President Rufus Williams (he's an alum, too) hopes former students add content and "offer support" for the schools they attended.
