Huckabee: Gays Being "Violent" Against Christians Too

Last month, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee went on ABC's "The View" and argued that the gay rights movement hasn't suffered enough violence to be a real civil rights issue, unlike African-Americans' struggles.

Yesterday at a book signing, Huckabee stood behind his statement that there was a "difference" between the LGBT movement and African-Americans' struggles, saying that the latter group was persecuted for "being black, not for their behavior, not for anything other than their race." While he acknowledged that the LGBT community does suffer some violence, he downplayed it by claiming that gays are also attacking Christians.

OK, Huck, let's try an experiment. Spend six months walking throughout this country, proselytizing in blue states (or where ever you feel Christians are more persecuted).

Then spend the next six months traveling in rural TX and other bastions of Red State inclusiveness with a man on your arm declaring yourself to be openly gay.

And then when the year is up, come back and tell us honestly which one got you discriminated against more (to say nothing of physically beaten).

The difference between murder and homicide is intent.

So Huck says:
"if someone is violent toward them, they should be fully consequenced to the fullest extent of the law. But for their violence, not for their thought. When we start having the government determine what we can think, I think we"re moving in kind of a frightening area."

Is Huck really that stupid? A x-governor that doesn't understand the most basic of law?

Given the inclination of closet-gay republicans to criticize homosexuality, I think the Huck's is really experiencing some violence...in his pants.

Notice how Mike Huckabee seems to seamlessly filling the the void in the religious right, left by the passing of the Rev. Falwell?

Newsflash Huck:

Being a Christian is a lifestyle CHOICE! Given that they CHOOSE to live this way, we make it so that Christians in this country have to HIDE their Christianity? Lets not let them CHOOSE to follow the teachings of an ancient, outdated, dubious text, without some consequence! Their CHOICE to do so should subject them to public ridicule, denigration, humiliation and embarrassment! Their PUBLIC ceremonies should be declared criminal as well, specifically those that involve speaking gibberish in public, crying out to an invisible person, falling on the floor in convulsions, or other displays of potential mental disorders or anti-social behavior. We should declare "Illegal" the supposed sanctioning of their unions, and make them all apply for a straight civil contract of partnership if they choose to cohabitate.

How's that strike you Huck?

You can't claim that this is an attack on your "Civil Rights" because I never suggested that any VIOLENCE be perpetrated on them!

What a complete and utter A$$ hat!

Start recognizing other religions exist. All people should have the right to marry if they want to. God created everyone.

Why won't this buffoon just go away? The last time I checked, gay people are also Christians and some belong to other religious groups.

Huckabbe is a disgrace. He is a smart Alec who is covering up his lack of knowledge by being garrulous. He talks before he thinks.

To imagine that this empty suit is aspiring to be the POTUS scares the hell out of me. The GOP is populated by a lot of dum b @sses.

I am going to exercise great restraint by not playing on his name, then getting banned. But, the substitution of the first letter of his last name sure does leave him open.

I am not sure if one can say it so straight out definitively...
Because, many of friends I have are gay and Christian...
I think you need to look at not because gay or Christian...
Fundamental different opinions due to preferences...

Only 34% of Americans now identify themselves as Republicans and 69% of them think that the party needs to move further to the right. Afraid we can look forward to more of this hate mongering as Huckabee, Palin, et. al. fight to see who can throw the most nastiest red meat at the fringe nuts. Yuk.

So that works out to about 22% of Americans wanting extreme right wing candidates for the GOP. Sounds about right. I know some in my neighborhood and my extended family. I hope the next 4 years softens them up some, but I doubt it. They will be watching only for justification of their current views, not reasons to question them.

It's like the republican nimrods have already started their campaign for 2012. Have a fun four years Huckabee, Palin, Romney and (god help us) Jeb.

The republicans seem determined to completely ignore how dissatisfied the country is with their policies and are already prepared to hate the democrats before they've even taken power.

Hey repubs, I have a creative, new suggestion for you offering some fresh policies you can hang your hats on: Just talk a lot about cutting taxes, shrinking government, deregulation, and make many mocking references to things you know nothing about.

I'm still thinking about how Mikey wishes he could electrify the base by wearing stilettos. Maybe he should go for it. Red pumps or the black knee high boots?
