Earlier this week, Think Progress reported that Pastor Rick Warren presented President Bush with the first International Medal of PEACE from the Global PEACE Coalition for his work on the global HIV/AIDS crisis. Warren defended the decision on Fox's Hannity and Colmes Thursday night:

COLMES: But to give a peace award to a guy who started two wars...neither of which are completed yet. [...]

WARREN: Well, the Peace Award was not about peace in domestic -- or foreign policy.

Warren went on to elaborate on his own foreign policy, arguing that stopping evil "is the legitimate role of government" and suggesting we 'take out' Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Non-Peace Peace Prize? To Bush?

And this is the guy giving the Inauguration invocation? Good choice.

I have two books written by Rick Warren. Since the debate between the President-elect and Mc Shame, which he rigged for Mc Shame; and now this, I don't want the books anymore. R. W. is obviously on the other side of the fence. Just wait, he'll be in the President-elects face wanting something. I'm threw with him.

TYPICAL REPUBLICAN TRICK name a prize for WAR a PEACE PRIZE!

This is the "ANTI-LOGIC" you find on FOX every single DAY! No wonder Murdoch is embarrassed by FOX yet he keeps it going because of the money, the PRECISE GREED we see on WALL STREET.

WALL STREET CREED: "As long as it makes money for me who cares if it is UNETHICAL!

Maybe Rick Warren needs to acquaint himself with a dictionary...The Peace Award is not about peace? Then what the hell is it about?

Rick Warren is making a mockery of the Christian religion and Christ's teachings.

He reminds me of why Christianity in this country is nothing more than a sick, sad joke.

Orwellian Doublespeak

PEACE is NOT peace.

Oh dear, another testimonial to the value of separation of church and state. With Rupert Murdock as a member of his Saddleback Church, everything Rick Warren says is suspect. Has he learned nothing from Rev. Wright?

You see Religion Kills...!

Does Rick Warren know Amadinejad is up for reelection in 2009 and may just be voted out of office..?

Is he that blood thirsty...?

Apparently so...

Religion Kills...

Just more mounting evidence that religion is the source of all our problems

I guess Pastor Rick Warren is competing for the cover of this month's Soldier of Fortune magazine. He has alot of competition among other evangelical pastors who are always fomenting war.

Just when I was thinking that Pastor Rick Warren was one of the more normal conservative evangelicals he comes out with this nonsense. Why are these conservative pastors so concerned with "taking out" foreign leaders? Did Jesus come to "take out" Pontius Pilate and King Herod? These nutty evangelicals should concern themselves more with the poor in their community and preaching about peace then lecturing about what foreign leader needs to be "taken out" next. Assassinations are not usually thought of as God's work.

He also worked his but off to ensure California took away civil rights.

He is truely the face of the new religious right.

I think today's liberals are too lazy or afraid to take on the new enemies. We are used to the good ol club of Bush Rove and Falwell.

Well, he used to write about concensus buiding and how conservatives should not be reflexively in the Republican camp. I remember when he said the new issues among conservatives should be the environment, AIDS activism, and how to help the poor. Perhaps he was losing congregation members with a too peaceful message. Who knows?

What Bushy A$$ kissing politics is that ?

His Church, the Catholic Churches whose Priests say folks needed to go to Confession because they voted for Obama, and all the other "houses of God" whose pastors preach about politics, running government and choosing which leaders to "take out" in this world??

WE WANT YOUR TAXES - we should have had them all along, but now we really need them! You might start thinking twice these days about throwing around hateful and fear-mongering remarks.

"His Church, the Catholic Churches whose Priests say folks needed to go to Confession because they voted for Obama"

Let's be totally honest here; Those Church leaders are saying that those who voted for Obama are "going to hell"!

Of course it is true, because each of these "priests" KNOW the will of God!

I agree. They do not get to have their political cake and eat it, too. Tax every church whose pastor says anything about politics. Even my pastor ticked me off for saying the Bible does not sanction same sex marriage. He went on to say our church welcomes all who enter and that we are all in need of salvation with only one commandment, Love One Another as You Love Your God, above all others. But I don't think it was his place to make that statement the week before the election. Now I suspect his motives in all that he does. Pastors do not do their parishioners any favors in telling them what to think. I go to church to worship God, praise Jesus and study the Bible. I gave money this year to Oxfam and Habitat for Humanity instead of to my church.

This just proves Rev. Warren is just as delusio nal as the other wingnut gasbags.

I swear, the right wing mouthpieces just continue to amaze me with their ability to hold virtually ANY dichotomy as a "truth".

Peace is about war.

Rights are about control.

Religion is about Capitalism.

Freedom is about not questioning what you're told.

"Right to Life" is about being born.

"Compassion" is about "tithing more money to the church".

"God's Will" is about controlling the Government.

"Do unto others" is about making everyone follow YOUR rules.

Humility is about being revered by a Mega Congregation that provides you a Mansion, foreign sports care, Armani Suits, and an unlimited spending account.

Defining Marriage as being "between 1 man and 1 woman" is about sneaking to a motel to have some "gay sex" with a paid escort.

and

Electing a "compassionate christian" to the highest office in the nation is about destroying EVERYTHING this country stood for!

It is becoming increasingly easy to understand why the ancestors of these people were so persecuted in the countries they came here from. They are a blight on mankind!

You hit the nail on the head with this one.

That's a good list of "planks in the eye" for Rev. Warren to tend to before pontificating on world political affairs.
