Facebook: Obama Speechwriter Parties With Clinton Cutout

The Washington Post reports that Jon Favreau, chief speechwriter for President-elect Barack Obama, was caught partying with a cardboard cutout of Hillary Clinton in some interesting Facebook photos.

Asked about the photos, Favreau, who was recently appointed director of speechwriting for the White House, declined comment. A transition official said that Favreau had "reached out to Senator Clinton to offer an apology."

The Post adds that Clinton's team is taking the matter lightly. "Senator Clinton is pleased to learn of Jon's obvious interest in the State Department, and is currently reviewing his application," said Clinton senior adviser Philippe Reines.

Well .....every­one has now learned a valuable lesson. If you see someone approaching with a camera...r­un in the opposite direction!!!!! It was an inappropriate thing to do but I don't think it is a firing offense. The guy looks totally stupid in the eyes of the world and I am sure he will moniter his behaviour better in the future.

I am amazed by the lack of acceptance of such blatant sexism. He's mimicing a disgusting act on a woman. How can anyone just blow it off as "just partying". Every speech that Obama has made now seems to lose its meaning when I look at the picture of the man who writes them.

I think Reines' response was horrible. This is extremely offensive and should never be tolerated. Being drunk is not an excuse to do stupid things.
