GOP Paid $55,000 For Palin's Fashion Stylist

Another day, another story about Palin's clothing and styling expenditures. On Wednesday it was the news of more spending on "accessories," as revealed in a new report filed with the Federal Elections Commission. Then on Thursday it was the story of another $55,000 in payments by the McCain campaign to Palin's hair and makeup stylists during the election's final weeks. And today it's the revelation of yet more spending on stylists, this time for Palin's "fashion stylist." The New York Times reports:

A woman who appears from campaign finance records to have been Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's fashion stylist was paid $54,900 by the Republican National Committee, according to a new report filed with the Federal Election Commission.

A charge for that amount to "Lisa Kline & Co." for "Consulting-Campaign" appears on Oct. 17 in the R.N.C.'s latest campaign finance report. Ms. Kline is a New York stylist whose name had previously appeared alongside some of the much ballyhooed $150,000 in charges for clothing and other "campaign accessories" from luxury stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.

A much smaller expenditure could have been better spent on an English teacher. The Herculean task it would have involved boggles the mind. Sarah Palin's speech patterns, poor grammar and disconnected thoughts ultimately render anything she says to the status of being painful to the listener. Much of what she espouses is, for want of a better term, the glorification of stupidity.

Simply amazing! She was only a candidate for a few weeks and found it necessary to spend all of this money. Imagine if she runs for President in 2012. She will start running in 2010. That is approximately 104 weeks, She will have to start collecting LARGE donations immediately if she is going to make it more than 6 months on the trail. And the climate is going to change in all of the states over the 104 weeks - that's tons of changes of clothing for her and the family (can't forget them, oh, and there will be more of them any time)

Somehow I don't think she is going to be the threat everyone is picturing - no one can afford to fund her candidacy.

It's probably the most bang for the buck any political campaign has ever got.

Don't get me wrong -- I'm the biggest Obama guy here and I can't stand almost everything Sarah Palin stands for. But let's be honest, she is a good-looking woman and with the help of the stylist, she presented a pretty glamorous persona.

Her looks probably garnered the ticket several million votes, but her extreme views and her stupidity cost them many more votes, but that is not the stylist's fault. The stylist was probably the most productive employee of that God-forsaken campaign!

I don't care what the GOP paid. Only what came out of the taxpayer fund is of *any* concern to me, and even that is statistically negligible.

What is not negligible are the Billions bestowed on Exxon-Mobil, Chevron, BP, Sunoco, Conoco, Shell, and every other petroleum refiner via tax exceptions and outright corporate Welfare over the years, and corn ethanol subsidies for Archer Daniels Midland.
