Following yesterday's report on an additional $30,000 in "accessories" spending by Governor Sarah Palin during the Presidential campaign, the New York Times has information on the money made by her makeup artist and hair stylist:

Gov. Sarah Palin's traveling makeup artist was paid $68,400 for roughly two months of work, according to a new campaign finance report filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Ms. Palin's makeup artist, Amy Strozzi -- who was nominated for an Emmy award for her cosmetics work on the television show "So You Think You Can Dance?" -- was paid $32,400 by Senator John McCain's presidential campaign between Oct. 16 and Nov. 24, the period covered by the most recent reports filed with the commission.

This amount came on top of the $36,000 she had already been paid in previous reports, dating back to September.

In addition, Ms. Palin's traveling hair stylist, Angela Lew, was paid a total of $42,225, with $23,400 coming during the period covered by the latest reports to the commission, which were due at midnight on Thursday.

Politico reports that in total, the Republican National Committee spent $180,000 on Palin and her family.

Very interesting! Who would have guessed that one could make that much as a makeup artist. TalkingShopping.com has an EXCLUSIVE interview with Amy Strozzi, Palin's makeup artist and which products she used on the governor during the campaign trail! It's an awesome interview!

Makes Edward's $400 haircut look rather puny, doesn't it.

McCain has many things in his life to be regratful of but i have to think the choice he made with her has to very close to the top of the list.If this choice is a sample of his inteligence we have to be very thankful they did not win. They should have spent the money on a todor of american history and the
constitution and the fact that Africa is not a country. She truly reminds me of the Queen of the Silver Dollar at closing time.

President-elect Barack Obama, returning to his home state of Hawaii for the holidays, plans a beachside vacation at one of Oahu's most exclusive properties.
Arrangements are being finalized for the Obamas and the families of two or three friends to stay at a Kailua beachfront location with three modern, multi-million-dollar homes. Each wraps around a lagoon-style swimming pool, with palm trees, grassy lawns and retractable glass walls for postcard views of the white sand and windsurfers.

And he's using his own money to rent the house. Palin used supporters' money to finance her beautification. There is no comparison.

How much makeup does one person use, I mean over $30.000 for one woman is outragou especially someone who is an "average" person. I wish she would just go away and as for her doing Oprah I just can't imagine that Oprah is to broken up by Palins snub of her show I betr she is relieved in a big way. Can you imagine Oprah who has a wide vocabulary trying to speak with someone who say's so many words but they are all empty.

As a nation we have dodged a bullit this woman is not only stupid, hungry for power and will stop at little to acheive her wants, we have just had our first lucky break in 8 years.

As for her baby son that is and should be off limits, the boy has no choice in whohis parents are.

It was money down the drain, given that she still looks like something a wolf dragged in off the ground.

Gov. Sarah Palin is calling for more state spending on children's health insurance, preschool and other programs,
"That means more working families will have health coverage. This isn't done lightly, a decision like this, and we know there will probably be some healthy debate stemming from some opposition in the Legislature over this," Palin said.

Sarah Palin is snubbing Oprah because there might be a chance that Oprah would like to talk to her also about THIS ("Babygate" - see today's blog from Andrew Sullivan) - and Sarah Palin is scared of this issue:

How come Palin always has a price tag in the headline, but Obama does not?

Because the fair and unbiased press absolutely despises her. Of course with all the journalists getting laid off nowadays from the big companies, they might better appreciate small businesses. Note that the story of government abuse regarding Joe the Plumber gets a single column on page 13......do you really want to trust the government with everything after reading about the abuse and subsequent coverup?

JOE THE PLUMBER!!! News flash: his name's not Joe, he's not a plumber, he's a fraud and a tax-cheat. Why would he care about his tax liability when he just doesn't pay any? When are the republicans going to get off this fiction that they try to masquerade as an issue!

Yes in addition to her diminished but continuing stardom, more than likely Obama paid for his own stylist... if he had one that did very much. Right or wrong, make no mistake women do pay much more than men for such things. But the big deal is that the RNC paid big bucks for it... not herself. Also for all their railing against Hollywood they hired a well known industry person who makes her living there. If the DNC did the same thing then yes, the media is not being fair and it should be.
