New Bush Neighbor In Dallas: I'm Afraid "The Whole Neighborhood Is Going To Be A Target"

Bush Neighbor

As was reported this week, George Bush has bought a new house in a wealthy part of Dallas, called Preston Hollow, to live in after he leaves office. Preston Hollow homeowners are used to having well-known neighbors; the area is already home to Dallas Mavericks' owner Marc Cuban and former presidential candidate Ross Perot. And while many of the Bushes' new neighbors seem perfectly happy and excited to welcome the former first couple, a few of them, reports the Wall Street Journal, have some significant reservations:

The impending presence of a former President is ratcheting up security fears. "I am afraid with all the negative press the president has been getting, the whole neighborhood is going to be a target," said a woman, who wouldn't give her name. She carried her King Charles spaniel Friday past the Bushes' new abode.

But Raw Story reports that the area had some issues long before Bush made it his new home.

Until 2000, the neighborhood association's covenant said only white people were allowed to live there, though an exception was made for servants. The document, enacted in 1956, reads:

"Said property shall be used and occupied by white persons only except these covenants shall not prevent occupancy by domestic servants of different race or nationality in the employ of a tenant."

Check out www.zeitgeist.com and you'll discover that Bush, or any President for that matter, was never really in charge. In fact, the super rich elite control EVERYTHING. Corporatocracy rules supreme and people had really open their eyes and truly realize what the heck is really going on in the world. Watch the movie and I bet you anything you'll come away with a totally different view about all the crap that's going on in the world, which originated in the 'great' US of A. The wealthy American elite are the real bogey men and they'll stop at NOTHING to dominate the world. They have always been greedy, grubby little men who, because of money, have turned evil. They represent pure evil and must be stopped. Oh, and by the way, there are no terrorists. The evil wealthy American elite are the true terrorists. Check it out.

For those from the Texas who are so offended, this nasty group is from Conn. But that really hasn’t got much to do with it. Let’s grow up a little children, stop this hateful mud slinging, north vs. south, white vs. black. There is good and bad in every region, every race, no one can claim exemption. That’s it. The GOP did their level best to divide and kill this country at its core for the last 8 years, culminating with the horrendous Palin Racist bloodfests at the end of it. Truly ugliness. So just lay off that; let it go and focus on what’s real… This guy is just a horrible person; a heinous war criminal who deserves to be in jail. So if I were that earnstwhile lady who lived in this jack-a$$'s soon-to-be neighborhood, I'd sell. Time to move sweetie...Satan's minion is moving into the cul de sac at the end of the street pack up the kiddies and get the heck outta Dodge.

The lives that have been lost, the innocent people who have been terrorized, the trusting country he has crippled, nearly beyond belief..... those actions defy human understanding.

He's the most hated man in America, darling... it hardly gets worse than that as neighbors go.

I have a proposition to end the federal budget problems. Hold a lottery. You could buy a ticket for Dick Cheney, George Bush, Condeleeza Rice etc. The price of your ticket would depend on whose ticket you buy. Following trials, the winner would get to push the button on the ticket of the person they bought. Heck I would buy several! Of course, there is always pay-per-view. LOL

Ok, enough! I'm from the South, actually from Texas, but I live in Florida. Bush is no Texan, he's carpetbagging scum, just like the rest of his family. Please don't equate Bush with the South and please don't disparage the South. Plenty of wonderful people live south of Mason-Dixon, just like plenty of a*****s live north of it.

Nicely put...I was actually attributing him to some amoral alien creature, from a race of travelers, rejected from his space craft on the grounds of sheer stupidity, a poser if you will amongst us humans..ipso facto a perfect candidate for the GOP to put up with the hundreds of millions of oilmen dollars rolling him into the WH, afterwhich he's spent the last 8 murderously tortuous years paying them back pound for pound and dollar for dollar in the blood and precious young lives of our courageous soldiers. But clearly these losses mean nothing to him, why should they? He's not from here, it's not HIS trillions of dollars that have been lost, nor his kin that has died...so...big whoop. In his words (the Charlie Gibson interview) its been FUN to be President, a real thrill ride. Yeah.

Integration in Texas was slow,
They had to have court ordered busing in Dallas and had problems well into the 80's. Moved here in 1985 and blacks and whites pretty much stayed apart. Never saw them in restaurants, malls or grocery stores not even as employees! It was really strange. It really began to change in the 90's.
Of course Texans didn't free their slaves for 2 1/2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was put into force so go figure.

don't know what part of town you moved to (West Dallas maybe). But I have live here for 52 years and you are miss representing this city. Now, on the other hand where Bush is moving to is perfect, these folks is finally getting their just do.

No, I'm very factual ...integration was slow to come to Texas.
Until 2003 the DISD was still under Judge Barefoot Sanders oversight citing Brown vs the Board Of Education and hoping the DISD board members could be trusted to uphold the the spirit of Brown without the courts continuing intervention. ... almost 30 years AFTER integration began!.That constitutes S L O W in any book.

Someone I know was sent to Boot Camp in N. Carolina during the '60's. He remembered seeing a black man, who had been walking down the street, beaten to the ground for not getting out of the way of a white guy who was walking down the sidewalk. The black guy lie bleeding and unconscious on the ground and no one lifted a finger to help him. Southerner soldiers told my friend that if he tried to help the guy, he too would be beaten by people on the street. He said that it was a common occurrence there; people continued on with their business as if it were no big deal. That sounds to me to be very much like Germany was when the Nazi's first came into power.

The Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves in Confederate States, over which the Union had no control during the Civil War. As such, it is unsurprising that Texas didn't immediately free their slaves, considering they were not (at the time) under the authority of the United States government.

Yeah well that's where the Texas Juneteenth Celebration comes from.

June 19th 1865 over 3 years after the war ended and the Emancipation Proclamation was signed was the day Texas slaves were freed.

I'm originally from Tennessee and I was shocked as I'd never heard of JUNETEENTH.

Bush was never president of all Americans. This Dallas neighborhood seems quite appropriate for him.
I just hope the economy doesn't free-fall too much between now and January 20th.

Here's the data on 75225, not sure if it's GW's zip.
Race
Hispanic/Latino: 2.1%
White*: 96.1%
Black*: 0.4%
Native American*: 0%
Asian*: 0.9%
Hawaiian/Pacific Islander*: 0%
Other*: 0.1%
Multiracial*: 0.4%
* Does not include individuals
in this racial group
who identify as Hispanic/Latino.

See, plenty of black people live there........or to the residents of the area a better way to put that would be, just enough black people live there.

Actually, Bush's new house is in the 75229 zip code which has a very different demographic breakdown.

Hispanic/Latino: 32.8%
White*: 58.9%
Black*: 4.2%
Native American*: 0%
Asian*: 3%
Hawaiian/Pacific Islander*: 0%
Other*: 0.1%
Multiracial*: 0.9%

That shift of about ten or so miles makes a drastic difference in the racial composition of the district. Now I'm not trying to say that George Bush will be living near any of this racial diversity, but you might want to check on these things instead of finding false data that corroborate a theory you have.

Okay, so all one would need to do is find out who in the neighborhood owns a King Charles spanial and you have the woman who has reservations...

Way to keep your sources protected.
