Huckabee: GOP Needs To Move Away From "Mushy Middle"

In 2012 let's bring in Palin, Robertson, and yourself as the only three Republicans worthy of the name. This is like a dream come true. The entire planet is moving to the left, and what does the remnant of the GOP do? Move to the right, of course.

I can't wait. I pray Palin and Robertson and Hannity become the new face of the GOP. The Democratic party couldn't PRAY for a better gift in 2012 and 2016.

More importantly, the further the GOP moves to the right and the more religious fundamentals they nominate as candidates the less likely their chances of winning. John McCain severely handicapped his campaign by picking Palin (jeezus freak) and by moving to the far right. He alienated the middle and the left (60% of the country).

The republicans have truly become the party of stupid. As a society gets smarter, they gain a centrist even little leftist view point which is the position of nuance and reason. The center is the view point of the world is "shades of gray", not "black and white". The far right is a position of ABSOLUTES. the farther to the right the republicans go, the farther from the Presidency they will be.

Yeah, become more conservative across the nation, especially become more Christian. According to David Frum, former Bush speechwriter,
"The government now owns a big stake in the nation's banking system. Trillions of dollars are now under direct government control. It's not wise to put that money under one-party control. It's just too tempting. You need a second set of eyes on that cash. You need oversight and accountability.
