Mike Huckabee's distorted perceptions of religious faith and it's political bastardization is a moral and intellectual disgrace. It's one thing to suspend one's disbelief in order to buy into the precepts of organized religion, it's quite another to suspend one's morality and honesty in order to ignore the fact that politics and religion are immutably antithetical.

Oh, I don't think there;s any fear they're going to stay in the mushy middle, Mike.

Between the pit bulls with lipstick , the people who hate taxes but send their last dime to the fornicatin' tv minister with the Italian shoes and the witch doctor I don't they think they even have a clue what the middle is.

Faux News has already moved further to the right. It is emerging as the in your face fundamentalist Christian channel, overflowing with fake Christians espousing their irrational fears, nonexistent mistreatment, and austere political solutions.

It's scary.

Yes, Mike. Keep steering the GOP farther right. The Democrats will win more seats next time, the GOP will keep looking more ridiculous. Does he really believe the US wants far right folks running the government anymore?
Mike and the Shadow Government are already planning for the next election and planning to try to make Obama and all those awful Lib/Dem/sinner types look at fault for everything possible. Hopefully this sleazy strategy won't work, but I will never forget that Bush won a second term in 2004. The "mushy middle" is sometimes pretty mushy in the head, and they might vote for Huckabee, or Huckabee in Heels, when they realize just how bad things are and Obama and co. don't fix everything immediately.

That does make some sense. Without an alternative philosophy, what need would anybody have for Republicans? Palin represents the future of the GOP.

They just don't get it do they. Their party has failed this nation. There party was only for the rich and that is why so many people are hurting. That is what they don't get. They gave all those tax cuts to the rich taking a trillion dollars out of the pot every year for the past almost eight years and the first thing they wanted to do was bail out their rich friends on Wall Street. That is what they don't understand that the American public is not stupid. Just their base.

The point is, they do get it and they don't care and they never did. They use whatever social issue (gay marriage, abortion, gun rights, etc) as a smoke screen while they push economic policies that only benefit and further empower the few regardless of it's impact on the the USA. These people have never nor ever will be loyal to this country, they only see this country as something to pilage for their own financial gain.
If historians trully portray the Bush presidency as it should - a monumental failure, then they should also include corporate media and how it purposely supported Bush without question. I see some of the same groundwork being laid with Palin, whereby another idiot is being given legitamacy by the press.
It is people like Huckalbee that use religion pretending to be "men of God" but if they were ever to come face to face with Christ, would be among the first to declare him as a terrorist.

yeah, get away from the moderate, centrist demographic - you know, where the middle class voters reside. instead focus on Southern Baptists - that's where the future of the GOP rests.

Republican Party is done for the foreseeable future. An anachronism to say the least. Racism and class war is sooooo 2002...

Jeeze Loueeze

Doesn't this guy know that Jesus is a liberal.

Doesn't he ever read the bible

Jesus talked about clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, visiting the imprisoned and setting the captives free. He said that he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword. He said love thy neighbor. It doesn't matter if you call it liberal. It's just the way Christianity is supposed to be practiced, not as a blood thirsty, stone throwing, self righteous justification for greed.

Well, the Gospel doesn't seem to be part of new free market Christian. Fear and the perverse doctrine of prosperity sells better.

If Huckabee thinks that the Chambliss win in the reddest state in the union means anything significant for the Republican party then more power to him. The republican spin machine can spin itself into a frenzy, we ain't buying what they're selling.

The Republicans have been done in by their own "Southern Strategy"-- LBJ knew signing the Civil Rights Act would cost the Democrats the south. I wonder if he knew the Republicans would become so focused on the southern votes that they would completely ignore the rest of the country?

Huckabee is like a cute and cuddly teddy bear and you almost don't hear what he's really saying. When you listen, it's clear he's a lunatic, and it ALWAYS startles me.

But he has good comedic instincts. Most comics are at least a little bit loopy. All he needs to do is get into the correct profession for his talents.
