Huckabee: GOP Needs To Move Away From "Mushy Middle"

On Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes" recently, Mike Huckabee said Saxby Chambliss' win in Georgia shows the solution to GOP ills: the party needs to move away from the "mushy middle" and become more conservative. Watch:

I think Huckabee is right. The GOP should move as far right as their straw hat wearing, banjo playing, christian tightwad, homophobic, neo-con, nascar driving followers will let them. By all means please cater to that enlightened constituency. I think they, and the country will do very well with the GOP as a permanent opposition with no access to the White House. Their only other alternative would be for them to come up with some serious policies that can address the many complex domestic and foreign issues we face, and once again gain some relevancy. I'm not holding my breath.

He forgot to mention that every pro-life-type vote that was on the ballots this year lost--pro-life amendment in South Dakota, parental consent in California, and right of an embryo (I think that's what it was) in Colorado all lost.

I agree with Huckabee. His advice will allow the GOP to win all those portions of and /or states that look like and reflect the attitudes of those white racist leaning Republicans who came out in the GA runoff election. I think it is those same states or portions thereof that McCain and Palin won in 2008.

Go GOP. Become even more conservative and exclusionary that way we can ensure you do not again have a chance to impose your xenophobic , homophobic and other hate filled ideologies on the nation.
