I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Obama sought to reassure the nation that while he occasionally sneaked a cigarette during the rigorous presidential campaign, he won't succumb to such temptations in the White House:

Obama was asked -- as he occasionally is, most recently by ABC's Barbara Walters -- whether he still sneaks a cigarette now and then. He suggested he does, but said he won't at his new address.

"What I said was that there were times where I have fallen off the wagon," Obama said. "What I would say is that I have done a terrific job under the circumstances of making myself much healthier, and I think that you will not see any violations of these rules in the White House."

Watch Obama's full interview with Tom Brokaw on "Meet the Press" here.

That's right. If the craving gets really bad, He can take a can of Fabreze and smoke in one of those little used bathrooms and open the window of course.

Ever been stuck in one of those situations where you can't smoke inside the house, and you can't step outside because someone with a camera might be near? I hate when that happens.

To quote Mark Twain: Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I've done it thousands of times.

I tried CHANTIX the meds to help you stop smoking. I'm still smoking but my craving for beer is
completely gone..

LOL! I just read somewhere that marijuana smoke is worse for you than cigarette smoke. I always thought it was the other way around. I guess I am going to have to do my own research on this one, since I am still having a difficult time believing it.

Good thing about grass is that you can drink it as a tea.
Good for the nerves and arthritis.

Now that made me have little desire to do ANYTHING. Like eat, get funky with my hubby, drink, smoke, ect...

All I did was sit and watch MTV.

I went off it three weeks later.

Yes, those anti-depressants can make you become a zombie. It is much nicer to have the energy for life than be over medicated.

A cynic could take his statement that "you will not see any violations..." to mean that if there are any violations, they will be well hidden.

As between the dry (and more likely than not, wet) drunk who occupies the office now, and an occupant who occasionally escapes to an "undisclosed location" in the White House complex to take a few drags, the choice is pretty obvious.

Been there done that...it's all or nothing. It is a hard thing to do. You have to be determined. I imagine with the pressure he's been under it's hard to stop. But, you can not smoke just a few here and there. If your doing that then you're still a smoker.

Are we down to this? Campaign season type questions on non-issues. Do we really care if he sneaks a cigarette? Or do we care about the fact that like Bill Clinton, John Kennedy, and other self-starters - that he is likely pushing 18 - 20 hours days every day of the week to come up with solutions to our most pressing challenges.

Better than the dry drunk that's been in the WH for 8 years.
