Arianna Huffington Voted Media Person Of The Year

Arianna Huffington beat out contenders like Tina Fey, Rupert Murdoch and the Laid-Off Journalist to win I Want Media's Person of the Year 2008.

The readers of I Want Media nominated 10 candidates and cast thousands of votes in the week-long Internet-based contest. The winner last year was "Hollywood's striking writers," who followed Comedy Central satirical newsman Stephen Colbert in 2006.

Huffington had a big year in 2008, guiding her liberal-leaning news and blog site to record traffic during the U.S. election season.

I remember watching Ariana on on Lary King during the primary go after the MSM by essentially saying just because you have a ying doesnt mean you have a yang.No matter how sound and sane a position Obama had the MSM would elevate the opposite point to the same level even if it was obviously ludicrous.
I expected that from Fox News but not the MSM.Ariana was the first to say you're wrong there's no other side of this coin. Soldiers relatives having bake sales to raise funds to buy armor for Humvees in Iraq was wrong and shameful.Did the MSM report it that way.No,they tried to straddle the middle and not take sides,but had no problem taking sides against Obama when a issue about him was negative.

As a person who reads both the liberal and conservative sites, I find your site to be very enjoyable.

I know a lot of people don't like it when posts are edted on this but I'm glad you do that. This site has much more decency that the conservative sites that don't edit their posts. I hate the unedited, offensive stuff that conservative bloggers be putting on their conservative sites.

It is a wonderful feeling to be honored and appreciated. Arianna brings a refreshing, honest and intelligent voice to the media. When words come out of Arianna's mouth it almost feels like I said it. She is the voice of NOW!
