Tribune Co.'s bankruptcy filing won't scrap or delay plans to sell the Chicago Cubs, the team said Monday.

The team was not included in Tribune's Chapter 11 petition filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del.

"The sales process for the team, ballpark and related assets continues and its timetable for completion remains unchanged by today's announcement by Tribune," the team said in a statement.
