Alba

Leaked photos which have been posted on various internet blogs show an original shot of Jessica posing for Campari, in an image which was later airbrushed.

The newlywed is seen posing in a white strapless short suit with a black belt on the limited edition calender, snapped by celebrity-photographer Mario Testino.

However in the picture which is not airbrushed, Jessica looks softer and more natural.

In the before picture, Jessica reveals a stunning hourglass figure with a few more curves around the hips and waist.

I don't understand why "fashion", whoever these weird creatures pretend to be, seems to be infatuated with skeleton thin women. It's not beautiful. It's very ugly. But, because they get to wear all... more >>

Even if they're not the same two pictures she still looks noticeably skinnier in one.

Yes, but the skinnier looking photo does not have the arm of a white chair directly behind her right hip. I'm not sure the skinnier picture is meaningfully altered. But then the Sarah in a bikini with an assault rifle fooled me.

They are different pictures. This is a non story. Stop wasting my time HuffPo.

despite being different photos it is obvious the two are from the same shoot and he body posture is practically identical in the two photos. Had her body been turned in one direction or the other I would have to agree that it is a waste of time to speculate but her torso is facing directly to the front in the exact manner in both photos. They obviously shaved a few inches off her thighs and waist not to mention airbrushed out the wrinkles on her shorts which isn't the issue, obviously. It is simply wrong to take an extremely healthy and thin woman (a body which few people will be able to attain) and make even more thin and perfect meaning it is practically impossible to attain this type of body but you knows girls everywhere will starve themslves trying because we've raised someone such as jessica alba to be the height of hotness. it's a despicable practice and we should put as much pressure on those who perpetrate it as we can for the sake of our young women (and men in other cases).

People - they are not the same shot - I'm not saying the shot on the right isn't airbrushed, but it isn't an airbrushed version of the shot on the left. The tilt of the head is slightly different, as is her hair and the angle of her body - Yes, it's the same photo session, but not the same shot. It would be interesting to see the same shot side by side. And is it really a surprise to anyone that all photos in magazines (except the grocery store tabloids) are airbrushed? It's not a documentary.

I'm guessing you aren't personally familiar with photoshop. These are definitely the same shot. Pointing out the angle of the head doesn't support your assertion. Photoshop is quite an incredible tool to manipulate photography and is quite capable of making those adjustments.

I am VERY familiar with Photoshop. I've been doing photo retouching for over 15 years. These are 2 different shots. I have to give the photo director credit for getting the pose to match. The hair is totally different. Her legs are in different positions. The bottoms of her shorts are different. Yeah, you can do a lot with Photoshop, but moving legs and ADDING hair is a very daunting and futile task. But as everyone has pointed out, the final image was probably retouched too. Every photographer and magazine does at least some retouching. If anything, just to improve the contrast to make images "pop." One thing I noticed that tells me the right photo is retouched are the shorts. Notice in the left photo how the folds and creases of the shorts stick out. On the right photo the edges are perfectly smooth. This is a classic sign of "trimming" off the sides.

The original photo is embarrassingly bad, for a professional. What's with the white-on-white??

Oh my gosh, she is such a beautiful girl - why alter? It can't make that much of a difference to anyone. Are they just looking for work to do? If they're having trouble paying their mortgage they can call Paulson, I hear he's dishing out the cash like crazy.

Unrelated but still really important - I recommend Paul Grignon's 47-minute animated presentation of "Money as Debt" which tells in very simple and effective graphic terms what money is and how it is being created. It is an entertaining way to get the message out. The Cowichan Citizens Coalition and its "Duncan Initiative" received high praise from those who previewed it. I recommend it as a painless but hard-hitting educational tool and encourage the widest distribution and use by all groups concerned with the present unsustainable monetary system in Canada and the United States.

This is more than a little airbrush tweaking. Obviously the whole piece was totally" Photoshopped". I guess the don't really need anything but her face since they re-did the hair, make up, even the belt buckle. IF celebrities would refuse to sign contracts that allow such liberties with their images, more young women would not have eating disorders, etc. that are created by the media in these fictional body images. Celebrities: put your foot down because even YOU cannot live up to the fiction.

They were clearly going for the old "pin-up" look that always exagerates the hour glass - thats the reason they removed the muscle tone in her legs and drew in the waste line. In the original photo (which is not the same image) her clothes did not quite fit properly and was bulging in some wrong places.

There is nothing wrong with smoothing some things out but it kills me that they thinned he out so much. My god, how perfect does she have to be? Put another 20 pounds on her and she was still be one of the most stunning women on the planet....

In other news, Ebay has opened a special category for auctioning off the internal organs of supermodels, removed in order to make them thinner on the runway.

"Airbrushed"???? What century is this story from??

Almost every commercial photograph is manipulated in some way. I know... It's what I do.

The term, btw, is "retouched".

Not "Airbrushed", or "Photoshopped".

I agree. They have been doing this for decades, so why are we surprised? I actually don't know why they have to retouch Ms. Alba, she is perfect the way she is.

They're not the same shot, but the background isn't the giveaway, it's the position of her head. Backgrounds are easily replaceable.
