Caroline Kennedy will seek Hillary Clinton's senate seat when Senator Clinton steps down to be President-elect Barack Obama's secretary of state.

The New York Post reports that possible senatorial contender Caroline Kennedy had a small butterfly tattooed on her arm during a family vacation in the '80s.

During a night out in Hong Kong, Caroline, her brother, John F. Kennedy Jr., and her cousins Edward "Teddy" Kennedy Jr., 47, and Kara Anne Kennedy, 48, challenged one another with a mischievous dare, a source said, noting that the group had consumed a few drinks.

The boys challenged the girls to get a late-night "tat" at a nearby parlor.

Caroline and Kara went first and emerged "bruised and bloodied," emblazoned with butterflies on their arms.

New York Magazine rebuts that this is old news, and that the tattoo appeared to be partially removed at the Democratic National Convention.

See, it's been known for decades that Caroline Kennedy once had a tattoo of a butterfly inside her elbow. She even wore a band around her arm on her wedding day in 1986 to hide it in pictures. But now that she's being talked about to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate, the tabloid brings up the story as if it's breaking news. (Actually, as you can see in this picture from the DNC, it has partially been removed.)

Who cares about Caroline Keddedy OR her tattoos?This is incredibly dumb and unimportant. I know the push is now on to give Caroline a senate seat that she has done NOTHING to deserve, but sheeesh!

Good grief......with so many things to report and our economy caving in around us..... and Caroline has a small tattoo.

I'm a manager in a large healthcare org. I have pierced ears, 5 tattoos and "other" piercings. Am I less effective and not a professional.......ugh!

What does it say about her character? Only that maybe in the 80's she had a little too much to drink on holiday and made a bad decision about a tattoo...

That is the only thing the sleeze bag news has come up with to talk aobut?
I wish the newspapers would cover important things like:
12.5% of the citizens of the USA are hungry.
food pantries have bare shelves.
People are not giving, more and more children in our country are going hungry.
Teachers pension funds have taken massive multi billion dollar hits.
70% of africa has a food shortage.
People in haiti are starving and the USA cant even be bothered to help them clean up after a hurricaine.
And they talk about Carolines tattoo? What idiots read those papers anyway?

How I wish John Kennedy Jr. was alive. I'd rather have seen him in a political office than Caroline(the liberal). Hate the tattoo. Doesn't suit her at all..
