Chicago Tribune:

Less than a week before the opening of its new mainstage revue, "America: All Better," Second City has been suddenly confronted by a tsunami: this morning's arrest of Illinois Governor Rod R. Blagojevich.

It's the biggest Chicago-centered political story since, well, the election of Barack Obama to the office of President of the United States. Second City has had Obama covered for at least the last year. But Blagojevich? Not so much.

That's all going to change after--or maybe even during--tonight's preview performance.

"We know we have to deal with it," says Second City vice-president Kelly Leonard. "The director, Matt Hovde, is rehearsing the cast today. We'll have the governor in by Sunday."

Okay, I haven't been to Second City since January 1980...but I thought they do IMPROV. Regardless, this material seems to write itself. Happily, the death of political comedy post-Dubya has been greatly exaggerated.:-)
