Tuesday night, after news of Jay Leno's permanent move to 10 pm on NBC, the late night hosts addressed the news, including Leno himself. Some with jokes and some, like Conan, with sincere happiness.

Leno: "A lot of people were shocked... [that] NBC still had a primetime."

Letterman: "Welcome to the Late Show, STILL at 11:35."

Conan: "I am absolutely thrilled that Jay is staying at NBC..."

Kimmel: "I feel like a huge chin has been lifted off my shoulder."

That and much more in the video below.

CSI screens at 8.30pm Downunder. That's what we call Primetime!

Letterman is still the best....by far!

I agree, Jay Leno just creeps me out!

Conan O'Brien -- still not funny after 16 years.

Has anyone put Carson Daly out of his misery yet?

Now that Leno is moving to a different time - is he still going to be sucking up to Governor Arnold and other politicians like McCain? Leno spends so much time kissing their behinds that his chin must leave some sort of permanent mark on their butts. The only reason that Leno's monologue is as long as it is - is due to the fact that he is still telling Clinton/Monica jokes.

No, Jay will continue his just general all-around sucking as usual.

I had recently caught an episode of Leno for the first time. Only because Chelsea Handler from Chelsea Lately was a guest. He is not funny. Not at all.

Not a bad idea.

We boomers like Craig and Leno but don't really want to watch at 11:30 pm. We'll tune in for a good humored monologue at 10 pm and stay watching if there are interesting guests. Or I'll catch Craig and Leno monologues on the web.

Not all of us are thrilled by crime shows like CSI.

I totally agree.

Well, now I just have to avoid that show an hour earlier than usual.

Conan and Craig over Leno anyday. That guy's as funny as rye bread.

As funny as rye bread left out at a Sunday picnic.

I actually like Leno. I don't know where all this animosity is coming from. He's far superior than Letterman. He's the only one that actually does a comedy bit that last longer than a couple of minitues. Has anyone else noticed this? Nevertheless, I wish him well (Conan too, he's hilarious)

I haven't counted but I'd guess that Leno does twice the jokes during his monologue than Letterman who is tedious, repetitious and lame. Leno's monologue is much faster paced than anyone's. I wish him the best. I'll be watching.

Oh, what are we now, joke accountants, with our jokes per minute metric and whatnot? Well, here's another metric Leno excels in: Jokes that suck per minute.

I love Jay Leno. I'm so glad he wants to continue doing a show.

Well, you should marry him then. Just to warn you, though, if you want to kiss him on the chin you will need a passport.

It shows confidence in NBC to get writers to come up with a compelling new show to compete at the 10 PM slot, eh? They screwed a lot of shows out of business during the strike and it's coming back to bite them in the rear.

Journeyman is one example of a show that they screwed over.

NBC has become your dad's network. Remove it from the rotation and find something to watch that's related to the 21st century. Leno in prime time is the final push over the edge.

Craig Ferguson is the funniest, and that clip is a strong indicator.

Ferguson is hilarious. He's the most entertaining of the late night talk show hosts. It might have something to do with his wry Scottish wit and years over in Great Britain honing his craft.

He's also a talented writer.

I sooooo agree. I've been hooked on Craig's show for quite some time! :)
