Langella and Ledger are shoe-ins.

The Dark Knight was by far the best movie I've seen and it's ridiculous that didn't at least receive a best picture nomination, if it wasn't based on a comic book, I think it would have

I don't understand television awards, the same ppl get nominated for the same roles

In some cases, yes, but they do recognize new shows and good tv actors get praised for good work. The emmys do not work that they. It's more of a poltical game.

IM DISAPPOINTED THAT RICHARD JENKINS WASN'T NOMINATED FOR "THE VISITOR". HE WAS SUBTLE AND WONDERFUL IN THAT.

True that. What a beautiful movie.

MILK not being in the list at all is a travesty! I guess the Huckabee-ites and their ilk must be Globe nominators!

Were Glenn Close and Holly Hunter ineligible for some reason? I mean, January Jones? Really?

At least there isn't anyone from Grey's Anatomy this year.

The only way I could fathom someone questioning the January Jones nomination is that they've never seen "Mad Men." Jones is a revelation in that role.

Sorry to see that Cillian Murphy is not on that list for his role in "The Edge of Love."

Oh well, I lost faith in such rewards a long time ago, when "The Sound of Music" received an Oscar for best picture over "Dr. Zhivago."

Hall is truly amazing. Like he was made for that role.

"Lost" shut out again in television. Ah well. House over Lost? Mmm, okay...I mean, let's all agree that Entourage is a horrible show, and only keeps getting nominated because those nominating are also showing up on episodes as guest stars. Weeds is pretty poorly conceived as well, with few shiny moments. As for the films, my feeling is this list is going to be far from the Academy's. Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. can pretty much rest easy they will be pushed aside for more dramatic fare. Milk and the Dark Knight have a better chance of getting Academy nods than The Reader, and definitely the Visitor. The Globes have a funny way of being co-ordinated, considering no one knows who the hell the Hollywood Foreign Press are. Besides, Pia Zadora. Ha! Yeah, Spielberg's award, hardly a surprise since they announced that two years ago. Although, considering his last movie was Indy 4, we might want to reconsider. The guy's still young!

This list has some good and bad ones. Why the obsession with the same movies for every category? Why do we need to give an award to Mamma Mia which has been on broadway for at least a decade if not getting close to. Mary-Louise Parker deserves the award for Actress in a comedy, and Weeds' only contender in the Comedy category is The Office. The Visitor is one of the best films of the year and deserves Drama for a motion picture, it was not released to many movie theaters but I had a chance to see it and bought the movie the day it came out, you can still find it at RedBox. That is all for now.

If the Office is the only contender to Weeds, then...um, have you heard of 30 Rock? And Californication makes Weeds look like, well, one poorly written schlocky sitcom for a cable series. Weeds is horrible. And I smoke weed!

I'm shocked that Milk didn't get Best Picture or Best Director, or a Best Supporting Actor for Emile Hirsch.

Also disappointed not to see Dark Knight up there.

The Golden Globes are a bit of a joke award, especially as evidenced by James Franco being nominated for PINEAPPLE EXPRESS instead of MILK. It and THE DARK KNIGHT will probably be getting Oscar recognition.

I'm hoping that Heath Ledger wins. I think he did an amazing job in Dark Knight.

Can't complain about Steven Spielberg being nominated for a lifetime Cecil B. Demille Lifetime Achievement Award, imo; noone does movies better than he does!
