New York Times:

This might not fall in the category of things that make Hillary Rodham Clinton feel better about how the Democratic presidential contest turned out. But David Plouffe, the campaign manager for Barack Obama's campaign, said at a campaign manager's forum here at Harvard University tonight that things might have been a lot different had the disputed Florida primary actually counted in the Democratic race.

"In fact, we might not have been the nominee," Mr. Plouffe said at a forum sponsored by the Kennedy School of Government.

Here is my new idea which anyone may use in any way you wish:
"Obama's Law: Anything that can go right, will go right."
Feel free to spread it around.

He needs to save it for the book, no need to make potential buyers p^ssed at him before they buy his book.

Not a very iformed statement to make given that Obama did not campaign in these two states...

He isn't telling us anything we didn't already know. Had the Rules and Bylaws Committee decided not to disenfranchise millions of Florida (and Michigan) voters, the outcome of the Democratic primary would have absolutely been different. Say whatever you want about her or Penn or the campaign or the brilliance of Obama... even his top advisor finally admits the truth. Though I am relieved we don't have a President McCain, I will never forget how they ripped this election out of Hillary's hands. Never.

If Hillary had won the primaries, she still would have lost the Election. She would not have been able to beat McCain. Sad but true.

Floridian resident, begging to differ. Had O supporters have known the Primary was going to count--we would have voted in the primary--and Hillary still would have lost.

because they were playing by the rules. Hillary knew it too, and she tried to cheat to win. She AGREED that FL shouldn't count, and they DIDN'T count and she tried to pretend to sympathize with FL and MI-ers at the last minute to ensure a win. And alot of her idiot supporters fell for it. Oh well.

By the way, all then networks added up the numbers, and Hillary still wouldn't have won if she got FL and MI. At least not the fair way. She was trying to consume ALL the delegates from MI, which she didn't even earn.

He probably had thrown a few shots down his throat before going to that forum.
I do not need anybody's help in doing the math which is as straightforward as it can be. Barack would still have been the nominee.
It's also possible Plouffe is hoping to raise people's interest in the million dollar book he is going to write about the campaign. This is similar to the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake Superbowl scam to sell their products.

What if. What if. What if. I'm sick of it. Let's move on. It's not Plouffe's fault; he was just answering a question. It's the media's sick desire to rehash old, dramatic, and yes, high-rating inducing conflicts of the past in order to fill their gaping hole of political drama. Obama still would have won the nomination. it would have been a closer fight, sure. But he still would have won. There. Now, what was that about the American auto-industry failing?
