I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Tom Cruise appeared on the "Tonight Show" Thursday to promote his WWII drama "Valkyrie," but wound up sharing his musical ambitions and Elvis impersonation in the process. When host Jay Leno asked Cruise if he'd ever consider doing Broadway and musicals, he replied, "Yes, I'd like to do a musical," then confessed he had enjoyed performing in "Guys and Dolls" in high school (which prompted Leno to shout "Broadway is my LIFE!").

Leno then asked Cruise if he'd ever sung on television, and he answered "No, I haven't...we should do that now," before breaking into Elvis's "Blue Suede Shoes"-- tentatively at first, but as the audience egged him on he picked up momentum. Finally, he jumped off the couch to do a little hip gyration as Leno shouted "Yeah! Yeah!"

They could do a Scientology musical starring Tom, John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, Jenna Elfman, Lee Remini, Jason Lee, and Chaka Khan. And Scientologist Greta van Susteren could do interviews with the cast.

Edgar Winter, Chick Corea, Mark Isham, and Billy Sheehan can do the score...

Ultimately, I really don't care what "religion" anyone belongs to.

$cientology, unfortunately is a vicious money grubbing cult. It in no way resembles a religion.

I agree a 100% with you. People judge so easily. Who cares what he chooses to believe in. Everyone that reads this believes what they want with no one judging them because no one knows them. Get famous and suddenly every one wants to have a say in what you should believe. This man is positive, upbeat, very talented, nice on the eyes and yes, he can sing. Jealousy is what causes all this negative judgement from negative people.

Or they've change them again. He always appears to be on something when he goes onto the talk shows. However, what is consistent is that he's not stable and has a couple loose screws upstairs.

One more thing. I think Tom should let his wife act. I remember he didn't let her have this love scene with someone in a movie. Stifling her career. To me she is just his wife that had his kids. She doesn't seem like a star to me really. She has to break free from his clutches and spread her wings. She better do it fast because she is looking very weak and under his thumb.

Why does everybody freak out when Cruise moves a little? Big deal. Everyone fell off the deep end when he jumped on Oprah's couch. Who the H cares. Now he makes an Elvis impression and he is painted as a lunatic again. I think people are just jealous. Maybe if stars get too big we like to become hyper-critical of them. We all thrive on it. They get huge and we nit-pick at them like they are monkey's gone bad. I really don't want to be famous. Growing up as a teen I thought of fame. But I think most kids want to be famous. But now being 42 I wouldn't want fame. I would rather be rich behind the scenes. I very wealthy producer lets say. No spotlight. Just the money and the power to do what ever I wanted almost. But then again that might be too much. I might lose perspective and appreciation for things. At any rate get off of Tom's case and get a life.

Have you looked into the cult he belongs to? He is the #2 leader of a criminal con game that uses mind control techniques deliberately to enslave people. Those guys at the "Free personality test" tables work 16 to 20 hour a day 7 days a week for $55 a week, they all live in a communal home under strict and vicious leaders all because what Scientology is is mind control. The leaders of the church beat and imprison members randomly, they keep families apart and force abortions on church members. Do some homework and you will understand the criticism better.

You don't know what youre talking about.
Scientology is a dysfunctional organization and open to criticism, but does not 'deliberately enslave people.'

I used to live next to a Scientologist compound, and these people were just wierd. Even the little kids didn't seem to be normal.

I like his current wife, Katie Holmes, grew up crushing on Tom Cruise. I remember when he made the cover of Time, when Rain Man had just been released. I would stare at that cover. I am somewhat dissillusioned by some of his remarks over the last couple of years, but I do believe he is a good soul. Maybe his enthusiasm for Scientology has come off msiguided....

Talent? What talent? He plays the "Tom Cruise" character in EVERY movie. He's the modern version of John Wayne.

LOL - Perhaps. That didn't hurt John Wayne's popularity much, did it?

As long as he is associated with and helps fund the dangerous cult Scientology I will never watch any of his work. I don't want one red cent to go to those crooks and he is their biggest enabler.
The Church of Scientology is a vicious and dangerous cult that masquerades as a religion. Its purpose is to make money. It practices a variety of mind-control techniques on people lured into its midst to gain control over their money and their lives. Its aim is to take from them every penny that they have and can ever borrow and to also enslave them to further its wicked ends.
Scientology is a confused concoction of crackpot, dangerously applied psychotherapy, oversimplified, idiotic and inapplicable rules and ideas and science-fiction drivel that is presented to its members (at the "advanced" levels) as profound spiritual truth.
The results of applying their crackpot psychotherapy (called "auditing") is to weaken the mind. The mind goes from a rational state to an irrational one as the delusional contents of the subconscious mind are brought to the surface and are assumed to be valid. It also makes a person more susceptible to suggestion since it submerges the critical thinking faculties of the mind into a partial subconscious state. It results in a permanent light hypnotic trance and so from thenceforth that person can be more easily controlled.. "

you know how many religions that can be said about?? Crackpots, dangerous, etc.? Give me a break! I can't believe ppl here are not recognizing their own hypocrisy, proudly admitting they dislike him cause of his religion.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:08 PM on 12/12/2008

Scientology is not a religion, it is a con game that uses mind control techniques to get rich off of unsuspecting people. Religions don't do that, so how many religions can that be said about? None of the actual belief systems do. I never said I disliked TC, I said he was the top enabler of a can game that destroys people's lives. He is in fact the #2 man in this criminal organization. Do some homework, find out the truth about this insidious cult.

Actually, it is a cult with a practice of conning people out of there money. More people need to do their research to understand more about these types of cults.
