Travis Barker Crash Pilot's Family Speaks Out On Lawsuit

The family of James Bland, one of two Learjet pilots who died in the crash involving Travis Barker and DJ AM, is confident the pilots weren't at fault despite accusations they were poorly trained.

"We know the investigation will eventually show they weren't negligent," Bland's younger sister, Laura Martz, 47, tells PEOPLE. "James took piloting very seriously. If he felt the plane wasn't maintained properly, he would've refused to fly that day."

My condolences to the family.

As to the passengers and their families, you have my condolences and sympathies as well, but as to the lawsuits -- at least wait until the NTSB investigation is complete. Sheesh.

I agree with you 100%. They should wait for everything to be completed, see what problems occured, then see where any blame is handed out. These lawsuits immediately after the fact are nothing more than a rush to judgement in my opinion. Frivilous lawsuits really. The kind that give all the others a bad name. Besides, no amount of money or placing of blame, will ever bring back a dead loved one.
