Burglar Ghost

A burglar who broke into a house claims he was held captive by a "supernatural figure" for three days without food and water, officials said.

Police official Abdul Marlik Hakim Johar told The Star newspaper the house's owners found the 36-year-old man fatigued and dehydrated when they returned from vacation Thursday.

He says they called an ambulance to take him to a hospital.

The man told police that every time he tried to escape, a "supernatural figure" shoved him to the ground.

Abdul Marlik could not immediately be reached and other police officials declined to comment.

That is a link to the original story. You know, in many cultures, (including our own) ghosts are an accepted part of life, even if most of us have never seen one.

Just as I can't see radio waves, but acknowledge their existence, I am guessing there are many more dimensions that exist that I can't tune into. 'Course, the guy may have been hallucinating.

"may have been hallucinating"? May? You really think there's a possibility an actual ghost was involved?
I'm sorry, but the analogy of ghosts to radio waves is just plain weak. I could offer a long polemic on the various errors in the analogy, but it mainly comes back to the simple fact that even though we can't see radio waves, we have ways of detecting them. Turn on your radio, and voila! Evidence of radio waves! Further, they behave according to the known laws of science and our universe.

Where is the actual evidence for the existence of ghosts. Sure, there are anecdotal accounts of strange occurrences, but just as with this story, there are plenty of rational, scientific explanations for what many would consider "paranormal" activity. In this case, here are just a couple; 1) the guy was hallucinating due to drugs, "fatigue and dehydration," or any number of illnesses from schizophrenia to temporal lobe epilepsy. Even ergot poisoning or the flu would make sense. But equally likely is 2) HE'S LYING! Why? Perhaps for the media attention. Or maybe he was just embarrassed that he was somehow able to break in to this place, but evidently couldn't find a way out.

Why else would he stay? To admire the paintings? Catch up on his reading? Or to complement the owner on his choice of carpets?

Shouldn't break into a house when you are high on shrooms or LSD.

My wife was a ghost, she came and went in a puff. Then after the divorce I always got a bad feeling when she showed up.
