CHICAGO--John McCain called him "the biggest celebrity in the world," but Barack Obama's appearance outside the Regents Park Luxury Apartments on a freezing-cold Thursday morning didn't move a half-dozen University of Chicago students waiting on a salt-and-snow layered sidewalk for the Chicago Transit Authority's 172 bus.
It wasn't because he was sequestered, baseball cap on head and newspaper in hand, in the backseat of a darkened SUV that was out of the lakeshore condominium complex and onto East Hyde Park Boulevard in a matter of seconds.
For residents of the twin-towered Regents Park, home to hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students at the nearby college, Obama sightings just aren't that novel anymore.
