Whether you thought it was funny or frightening when an Iraqi journalist tossed a pair of shoes at the President, the incident has definitely inspired some online creativity. Below, check out a series of mock-ups of President Bush's close encounter with a Size 10.

Nov 4th to Jan 20 seems as if it will never pass. Our President George Bush preparing to leave the nation in an incredible state of disarray here at home and the loss of international prestige abroad, culminating in a final show of disrespect with a pair of thrown shoes, in the heart of Bagdad, Iraq.

I apologize to the Shoeman
For my President

The reporter who tossed the shoes, I feel, was not directing his emotion at America or her investment in blood and treasure for his tribal home, or even at the American people. Simply, this was our President"s last press conference whereby the brave, but errant shoeman could personally confront the architect of so many personal tragedies.
You see he was a newsman
The stories he reported
Were his tribesmen
His brother
His father
His son
His daughter
His mother
His nation
He won
Iraq
He has to learn to run it
By creating the
Majesty of Law
And silencing his gun

I apologise to the Shoeman
For my President
For any deeds wrongly committed
Or unfortunately left
Undone.

I apologize to the Shoeman
For my President.

Instead of throwing your shoes or creating mayhem at the White House by mailing your shoes, take a picture, in solidarity with Al Zaidi, take a picture in the name of peace and an end to war,

Upload the picture to this site:

This is an unfair statements, the united states of America was and will always be the greatest nation on earth, trust me my friend, there is only 5 people who like George w Bush in the states, his wife, may be his two daughters his vice president and Condaleeza Rice. American people are the victims of this dummy.

Truly the United Snakes of America has become the most universally despised country in the history of the world. George the W is only the most recent figurehead for the policy of world domination dating back to James Monroe and his call to "manifest destiny".

It is high time for American citizens (as they call themselves, quite ignoring the fact that all residents of the New World are Americans) to grow up and take responsibility for their appalling government, to hold their leaders to a higher standard of morality, and to start behaving like they are not the only people on earth.

Muntazer al-Zaidi deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for pointing out that the USA's international behavior renders all of its citizens unclean.

as the exhilaration of the catharsis the shoe incident provided subsides, it is my hope that all people give thought to the shame it represents. Worldwide, there is much shame to be shared by everyone. Those who rejoice at the shoe incident will, I hope, find a moment of shame in their joy at the sad event. Those who are offended by the shoe incident, I hope, find a moment of shame as they understand its origins. The true catharsis comes when we all recognize our collective shame at our treatment of each other. Once we reach the bottom of our shame, we can begin our climb to improved humanity.

There's a game now where you can throw a shoe at Bush. I've already played it-- too many times to count. It's addicting:

I think we should all mail a shoe to the White House for a little goodbye to Bush Christmas gift. Not that he woul get it then either but doesn't it sound like fun? Just to make the point... see below

From BBC News - By Martin Asser

"...It's that cultural significance that has added real sting to the assault by an Iraqi journalist against US President George W Bush at a Baghdad news conference.

In Arab culture it's considered rude even to display the sole of one's shoe to a fellow human being. "

You know what was really insulting?

By ducking Bush allowed the shoes to strike the AMERICAN FLAG directly behind him -- TWICE! Those were the STARS & STRIPES, Mr. Prez! At least go for the block!

Does that not symbolize the Bush Presidency in its entirety or what?

There are some really mean comments here about our President. Hopefully our next president will have the support of our country. I only hope I can get a glimpse of the train as it pulls out of the station.

I didn't realize that Curly was a lefty. Nice, natural throwing motion, too!

Muntazer nailed OLD GLORY on both throws!

Shoe #1 caught her on the lower left in a glancing hit.

I'm finally glad to see someone else commented about seeing either shoe hit the flag. I've been railing about it for a couple of days.
