I do not believe this is a typo. I believe this is a deliberate, callous attempt at either making a point or a stupid humorous statement. Either the writer is one of those who believe Obama is Muslim (not) or someone who wants to throw that idea out there one more time. It's stupid and should have been caught prior to going into print. Hopefully the writers feet will be held to the fire.
Oh it was definately on purpose!!!! I used to work for newspapers doing minor stuff like that and the only way words get on the page is when someone types them out.
Burka Abeam is not a typo, it's a silly sounding ethnic name that someone put there on purpose.
Presumably, the burka part proves that he's a Muslim.
It's too much reliance on spell check.
No, people DO rely to much on spell check, but spell check would have caught those, at least the second one, even if someone had added "burka" to his/her dictionary - not likely since I think the garment is spelled "burqa."
From too many in this country we can expect nothing more.................
I am.......................................
This was on Leno last night. It's almost like someone who speaks no English whatsoever wrote JUST Obama's name....either that, or editors who rely FAR to much on spell check! Somehow they managed to spell Blagojevich just fine. Weird.
Sounds like the way the blue collar rednecks speak on South Park -- "Der takin er jehbs!"
Maybe some office inside joke that the Editor missed.
if i misspell obama "abama" then my spell check suggests abeam. As for Barack triggering a suggested spelling of "burka", I find that unlikely using any word program.
Barack corrects as barrack, as in army barracks, it makes sense. This was obviously deliberate because they had no problem with Blagojevichs' name, and the spellcheck theory does not pan out. Now they have the attention they were looking for. Nothing else to see here.
Update your spell-check dictionary. I updated mine a year ago.
Why don't they tell us the name of the newspaper?
because it is a fake! I previously expected more from huffPo...
this is a hoax -- notice the name of the paper is not mentioned
It made it onto Leno's headlines, so it may not be:

WHAT?????
you think that Leno has journalistic cred?
spell chk does not offer abeam for obama
No, but it does for "Abama" with and "A' not an "O"
So perhpas the author misspelled Obama and then spellcheck
changed it to Abeam..... as for 'burka' not sure on that....
Burak Abama
